Has anyone received any negative attention due to them having a "flashy" Taycan?

Only at allocation stage before lock in - but family are suggesting it could be too flashy and attract the wrong attention. Live in a decent area, but have to travel to not so decent areas with work a reasonable amount!

None that I'm aware of. I've had quite a few unsolicited compliments. To avoid vandalism, I don't leave it unattended in certain types of area, though If I'd gone for the all blacked-out look it probably wouldn't look too out of place.

Yes - i was getting a quote from builders at a rental place i own and i saw them outside and tried to drive past them and they stared at me when i went past (i had a police car behind me so was going quite slowly!). I tried to park on the next street but it wasn’t a good street so had to go back…

negative part was the quote was at least £200 higher than it should have been…

If you are afraid of vandalism where you would drive/park the care, one recommendation would be not to spec a color that is too flashy (I.e mamba or frozen blue or carmine). The car attracts enough attention as it is.
Can’t be worried about people comments though. Anytime someone drives a Porsche obviously all sorts of stereotypes will fill others heads…

It's a Porsche it'll always get more attention than a BMW or Mercedes. Enjoy it, the negative comments only come from small minded jealous people.

Rob, if it's the wife or other female family members, they are inherently more worrisome than men. It's nature and nothing bad, partly what makes them so much better at men than many things.

Regardless of who it is, ignore them, but obviously do it strategically so they think you are listening to them. But obviously you aren't.

Logically, if everyone with a £100k+ car was at risk of being robbed of it, they would have been robbed by now. Or you would know about it in your circles.

Based on where I used to live in London, it seemed the only risk category was very simple, and this flow chart illustrates it:

Is it a Land Rover?

Yes > it's just been stolen
No > it's still on your drive.

Car crime is usually steal-to-order and actually, there is little that can be done with Taycan components, so there's no demand for them to be stolen... Unlike some JLR cars, Beemers, etc.

My family were worried about me driving my Taycan (when it arrives) into various parts of Europe for six months at a time and for the same reason as you mention. If it's parked up in a secure 24 hour multi storey, and for the most part I stay in apartments, there is very little risk.

The laptops/camera equipment in my apartment would be more of a worry.

Ditto you and where you live.

I had some dickh**d in a 520D that kept overtaking me and then slowing down in front of me after he passed when I was trying to keep a constant speed at the speed limit which was really annoying.

So I would overtake and then sure enough he had to get past me again, this happened about 15 times over about 40 minutes. Even when starting off at the bottom of a long steep hill which wound around some corners that he had no chance of keeping up because well he was driving a 2 litre BMW diesel and it was really wet out, he eventually caught up with me on some straights and went past again.

I eventually got really fed up with it and left him which didn't do the consumption figures any good at all.

Don't know whether he was doing it to piss me off or just to keep up with a Porsche. Or perhaps he wanting a mention in Taycan forum

Nope. In fact, here in California pretty much any Porsche without a wing is not a "flashy" car and gets little attention. Let's face it, Porsche cars without a "GT" in the name are pretty understated in the design department. My Jaguar XKR got far far more attention for its looks than my Taycan. Taycan comments generally revolve around the EV aspect of the car, and are quite positive.
