Yes it is. I have the insulated glass and I tinted the windows. AC is a bit too strong running in normal….Is it with A/C in eco mode?
That is very much against the data I have seen in the past.AC will probably max out at 2KW (so approximately 6 miles range lost per hour of driving when AC is maxed out). Worth noting that heating consumes even more (on a cold day).
Ok thank you, I guess Eco mode makes big difference thenYes it is. I have the insulated glass and I tinted the windows. AC is a bit too strong running in normal….
25KW? Not a chance. That would empty a full Taycan battery in just over 3hrs of being on (parked, 0 miles driven). That would also drop Taycan battery by 30% for just one hour of pre-conditioning. None of this is close to reality. That is very much against the data I have seen in the past.
The A/C unit on a typical US car used to be about 25kW and whilst things have maybe got more efficient I don’t believe it is anything like 2kW.
As I wrote US cars USED to consume about 25kW.25KW? Not a chance. That would empty a full Taycan battery in just over 3hrs of being on (parked, 0 miles driven). That would also drop Taycan battery by 30% for just one hour of pre-conditioning. None of this is close to reality.
Teslas actually shows the power used by the car while preconditioning on shore power, plus if you enter diagnostic mode you can actually see power used by individual components. 2-3KW at most for total car draw with AC on. There is no way Porsche engineers made Taycan 10x worse.
Another point of reference, my whole-home AC unit uses about 2.4KW, and it's able to cool a large home. I think you lost a decimal point.
No that sounds way to much. I would have it pegged at about 1 kW. Can we not see the actual power consumption with Car Scanner? That is very much against the data I have seen in the past.

2.75kWh? Jesus christ. My wash machine, oven and microwave together use less ?I just checked the overall consumption with Car Scanner app in my Taycan.
Car parked outside in 25 C and sun shining for several hours, so hot inside.
Car switched on music playing lights etc on. consumption 0.44 kW
Same with AC on and inside temp set at 20 C. 2.75 kW
Same with AC in Eco mode 1.38 kW.
Range difference for me on the GOM is about 5- 6 % between full AC on and all ventilation off.
Energy consumption in winter time will be very much more when the PTC heater kicks in. I think that one is rated at 10 kW.
Right now I'm getting 307km with 76% with AC in eco, city driving, 21'' wheels on PB+ (RWD) so that would be around 343km on 85% (linear extrapolation) which has been consistent for the past two weeks at least... I get 404km at 100%With outside temperature around 22c I get about 310kms at 85% when in town driving. 4S PB+, 21” RS wheels and electric charge covers which also drain range. Normal driving mode and AC in eco mode
It's pretty consistent between 225-230 miles at 85% for me. I also have a 4S with the Performance Plus battery, and generally only drive around town in Normal mode. I just looked at the app and see this:Hi guys,
What is the range you get with %85 battery for Taycan 4S Performance plus in normal mode with city driving?
