I feel you… i’m still without fully functional charging both ports
Today, they found out that “inverter” failed (cost: 10k€) but they don’t know when they will get spare part(s) at all.
So, i can charge only on one AC port…till further notice
good news: i put summer tires back on…and car looks much better

Does anyone using Electric Sidecar have the official Porsche Dashcam installed btw? I've found the Porsche app to be completely unusable and I believe I've found a way to integrate it into Electric Sidecar in a more predictable manner. I'll likely add this feature for my own benefit regardless, but would love to have someone else verify that the feature works for them too

Submitting v1.1 of my CAN Decoder app which has been surprisingly successful in sales on the App Store so far ? I have no idea why or how people have found it, but it's increasingly a core part of my workflow so I'm happy it's also happening to be a tool others are finding to be valuable!

New feature in this release is the ability to import PacketLogger .pklg files and auto-extract the entire OBD conversation in the log. I'm planning on hooking this app up to the Electric Sidecar community parameter sets which will make it easy to play with scanning session data to tune scaling parameters and identify new parameters.

This is an intentional part of the upgrade path of v1.4.0-87/88 because of a data migration the app needed to do under the hood (I needed to do a destructive migration between data models and didn't want to risk the widget process trying to run the migration while the app was doing it or vice versa). If you restart your phone it should reboot the widget process. If it's still blank after that though let me know because that means something more serious is going on. Note that this migration is only needed if you installed the v1.4.0-86 build.

For the "Checking capabilities..." bug this is still a known bug in the latest release and the one I'm working on addressing today. For now the fix is to kill the app and restart it.

I tried this today. Opened Sidecar to the settings page for Vehicle Scanners. Plugged in my scanner. Got the “checking capabilities“ hang. Killed sidecar app. Reopened. Saw the app flip past “checking capabilities“ but then got the “unexpectedCommandResponse” error. Repeated the process a few times with the same result.

Hmm I'll try to get some more details surfaced in this error so that we can try to identify what's happening. To confirm, what vehicle make/model/year are you testing with? And which OBD scanning hardware are you using?

2022 CT4. OBDLink CX. IIRC it’s a model that is touted as being compatible with Bimmercode. I don’t know if that helps narrow down the issue but it’s possible that something is different from the rest of the OBDLink lineup.

v1.4.0-89 is out now! Several improvements in this release:

- BTLE devices are now correctly removed from the scanner list when disconnected.
- Added a kWh/100mi electric efficiency unit.
- Updated the Live Activities onboarding UI to reflect the fact that it no longer requires a server but does require location access for background updates.
- Updated the account management flow with account categorization and better explanations of the distinction between OEM, self-managed, and demo accounts.
- Improved error logging for OBD command failures.

Can you try to connect again with build 89 and share the error you see? I didn't fix the error but this will help me diagnose what the underlying issue is.
