Hi all, new to the forum. I will be buying a used Taycan in the UK over the next couple of months and I was wandering which network apart from Ionity provide discounted charging via PCS? I know you can use the card to pay to varying degrees of success but I understand from the Porsche dealer that others provide discounts but he couldn’t tell me which ones.

Could someone tell me from the app/PCS website when logged in what networks provide a discount and currently what rate (apart from Ionity)?

last question re Porsche Destination Charging,…I couldn’t find a list of hotels/places where they are listed?

tx in advance.

If Octopus is your energy supplier in the UK you can apply for an “Electroverse” card.

The card can be used at thousands of charging stations and many partnered networks offer discounts of up to 20%. The card has an associated “Electroverse” app so you can locate participating chargers. You can also have any charges billed to your octopus energy account.

I have just ordered one of these does anyone know if they are compatible with the Porsche branded fast chargers at dealerships? I notice these do show up on the electroverse app

Didn't want to open a new thread.

With the new pricing, it makes zero sense to subscribe to either Porsche charging service.

Basic plan is 89p/kW
Plus is now 39p/kW (A price higher than some Tesla Superchargers off peak rate, Tesla is 20£ less per month as well)

Only Ionity is discounted as far as I'm aware but other Operators can be used with the Taycan Charging Card (or app).

Electroverse is a good option for an aggregated solution but carries no discount at Ionity so be careful.

Dealership EVSEs will charge for energy and time unless they've addressed this scandal.

Must be honest I've found the PCS excellent. Managing to do all my trips with Ionity stops country wide.
Yeah - as a 95% charge at home driver I’m thrilled to see IONITY enhance its network (esp in Ireland N+S) while I await my 3rd Taycan and a Macan EV for my wife.

The Porsche charging cards and alliance with IONITY is brilliant in terms of value too. Increased charging options should mean drivers less in need of 350kw charging pick cheaper solutions too so better IONITY availability

AFAIK you can still choose the original tariff, it's now called Porsch Charging Service Taycan, when you sign up. I did in March and currently have old rates with 30p/kWh Ionity since then.

I don't think the new Plus tariff would ever work out cheaper.
The current rate for Porsche Charging Service and IONITY is 89p/kW. The prices changed 1st of June.

Not if you're on a pre-existing PCS contract.

These are my rates, at least until the end of the year (when year 2 of my 3 year PCS contract is up):

I think you and I are on the original PCS tariffs (as noted above) - if so it's still cheaper to use PCS in this case rather than the rack rate from Shell, BP, Osprey or Fastned. All of those work out around 58p per unit (give or take) with the extra time-based element @ 300 kW PCS price levels

IONITY is still far cheaper on 'old' PCS than even the new IONITY tariff rates that were published around 2 weeks ago.

Mind you when my current PCS contract expires, I wont be renewing it. I'll likely just go with a mixture of new IONITY + Tesla subs

I’ve contacted my dealer and been told to expect the 30p / 31p per kw rate for my pending delivery new Porsche Ev’s, so perhaps these are rates for transacting outside Porsche charging / new car 3yr periods.

I have not renewed my Porsche Charging Service any longer. The service is quite good in so far that you can charge at many DC chargers from different networks. But there is a price to be paid for that. And Porsche will not allow you to only subscribe to the service for a few months. Like holiday travel. If you cancel then they will need to send out a new card etc. In my case I can utilise Ionity chargers on all my present trips, and very very seldom use anything but Ionity. And if I should need to have an alternative, I have found Tesla SuC to be a great alternative. No subscription nd decent pricing. So for me it was an easy decision To cancel the Porsche subscription. But that’s not the case for everybody, depending on routes you travel etc.

I have instead switched to Ionity Passport Power. Half the yearly fee and in many cases for me, a cheaper rate than the Porsche Plus rate. The normal Porsche Charging Service pricing is a total rip off! Not even worth thinking about.

Here is a table of pricing comparison that I have done for my use.

In most cases even to pay with a Credit Card at an Ionity station is cheaper than using Porsche Charging Service!!!

Did you quit it after 2 years or did you wait for your full 3 year term to expire?

I can't remember if they have to hold the prices for each new year, they 'renew' your PCS (within the max 3 year term)
