I am not sure an actual dyno test is needed here. Tuners should be able to tell, based on their reprogramming, how much additional current they are sending to the motor at any given RPM. The rest should be a mathematical exercise to get to torque and max HP. My big question would be how much the max torque is increasing (even a 10% bump in torque will make a difference, helping the low speed kick, which the RWD lacks). From a max power perspective switching to constant LC power alone (even if it does not come with more power) should make a big difference at speed, given the kick downs around 50-70 mph would give you access to 476hp vs 380.

so, a 44% increase at available power when driving without using launch control.
I can’t wait to try!
@Avantgarde not only does the RWD lack some torque, it seems like they articficially limit it < 100kmh or so. (Don’t know weather the tune fixes this, but when total power increases 44%, it should feel much faster.

Thing is +15-20% is a bit misleading as you are probably referring to the HP increase. The reality is even in stock form, LC HP is +17% higher but the LC max torque is only +3% vs non-LC mode. This implies essentially LC and non-LC torque curves are effectively similar for the first 40-50 mph but the torque drop starts at a higher rpm in LC mode. I am less interested to learn more about the HP % increase as I can imagine what it will feel like. Would be great to know how much the tune is bumping up the torque at lower RPMs.
Btw it is odd how little info is available on the specs of Taycan motors. Porsche does not even disclose basic info like max torque / hp rpm. And as others pointed out dyno results don’t tell you much.

I really want to see more reviews and numbers on the Redshift tune. Do we have 0-60 or 1/4 mile times for the 4S yet? The HP and torque numbers look great but I personally want to see how the tuned 4S compares to the GTS times before pulling the trigger

Doing the clone ECU for my Taycan Turbo S. The OBD interface is enroute and I also ordered the Dragy 70. I've dealt with a local Porsche tuning/mod shop here in NY and they're going to get me before and after readings to share so we can put some numbers behind the improvement.

Excited to see the improvement!

Special thanks to @Mr.Smith for all his insights these last few years. In late '21 he helped me navigate the world of Audi dealers as the market was going bonkers and to this day he's giving great insights as I learn how to enjoy these toys.

I have a dragy, see below. Cosistently doing about 2.8-2.9s 0-100kmu with the TS CT. Will do some tests soonest on quarter mile etc. As well as diff LC/Non LC. I am considering the redshift tune as well, but need more data. I hope the time will come that also the TS will benefit a bit more from the tune. I still believe it is possible to get a bit more out of it than just programming to have LC power all the time.

No rpm with electric motors. All the peak torque/HP is available the moment your foot mashes the pedal at whatever speed........unless like the Taycan it is artificially limited unless you engage launch control.
Dyno is difficult for the reasons stated above among other reasons.

Redshift numbers/percentages are above LC numbers

In EVs yes peak torque is available from almost zero RPM. But Peak HP? You won’t be anywhere near peak HP at low RPMs thats just how motors work. And you will only hit max HP when you hit peak HP RPM, which starts around 5000-6000 rpm for most tesla motors . We don’t know what is the peak RPM starting point for Taycan, because Porsche won’t tell us. But my guess is it is at even higher rpms.

Electric motors do have torque and horsepower curves, just like ICEs. They can not be magically “programmed” to “whatever speed” - whatever that is supposed to mean. The reason they don’t typically need a multi-gear transmission is because their torque curve is flatter across a much wider RPM range, negating the need to keep them constrained to a narrow RPM range during acceleration

No body said motors are equivalent to ICE engines. I don’t know why you are trying to bring counterpoints to my posts. What i can tell is your confidence is way ahead of your knowledge level on both engines and motors. (And basic physics concepts like torque and power).

I agree with @Avantgarde on this. Just because motors can access full torque at zero RPMs doesn’t mean they produce full horsepower at all RPMs. Torque is a measurement of how much force is being produced; horsepower measures the rate at which that force is converted into work. For both engines and motors, the equation is the same:

Power = Torque x rotational speed

In English units the equation is:
horsepower = fl-lb torque x RPMs / 5,252

In metric units the equation is:
Power in Watts = 2 × 3.1416 × RPMs x (NM torque) / 60

The horsepower derivative from torque on a ICE engine has no equivalent on an electric motor simply due to how power is generated. That formula does not work here due to having more variables that are changeable with electric motors vs traditional ice engines.
The rpm of an electric motor is a ton less related to the amount of HP it generates compared to an ice engine. There isn't a direct X horsepower at Y rpm for an electric motor like you get from an ice motor.

That's all I'm trying to say. Not just to counter your points. This is another reason Dyno sessions are difficult to do on electric cars. Max torque at damn near zero rpm is difficult to contain on rolling drums. Max horsepower has more to do with how much amps/voltage etc is being allowed into the electric motor at a given rpm (programming by manufacturer moreso than just what the electric motor can do). Of course there is a point when mechanical limits of the elector motor is reached (duh) at different rpm. But that's usually programmed out by manufacturers anyway.

Those who are interested in doing it, forget about all the HP and 0-60 time and so on. Just follow the statements of those who have done it. It’s absolutely worth it. Completely transforms the car. Only caveat is that the gain for Turbo S model is probably not worth the upgrade.

Did you elect for the options, namely
- increase In recuperation torque
- unfiltered throttle response
- removal of max speed limiter

Any thoughts, comments on those aspects please?

I do enjoy the recuperation level stock, hate the way Tesla forces brakes mid corner when I lift to apply the throttle. The car gets a unsettled mid corner. Wouldn't want that option.

I would choose removal of vmax and unfiltered response (something I like about the Tesla throttle response).

What about everyone else?
