The ability to travel well over 500 miles on a single charge comes from a number of proprietary components developed and manufactured by the American automaker, which at its core, is its “secret sauce” that separates it from competitors like Tesla and Mercedes-Benz.

Even its most basic model the Air Pure, currently delivers 410 miles of EPA range – more than the top-tier trims of other automakers. With 2025 Air models rolling out soon, Lucid continues to push the envelope in efficiency and as a result, range.

The 2025 Lucid Air Pure offers an EPA estimated range of 420 miles from an 84 kWh battery pack, equating to an energy efficiency of 5 miles per kWh and a record 146 MPGe EPA rating.
Here’s how the 2025 Lucid Air models break down in terms of specs and pricing.

Grand Touring
EPA estimated range: 512 miles
MSRP: $110,900

Touring
EPA estimated range: 406 miles
MSRP: $78,900

Pure
EPA estimated range: 420 miles
MSRP: $69,900

All versions of the 2025 Lucid Air are on sale now.

I am always excited hearing about the technical Details from the LUCID guys, they are really pushing the boundaries. For a while I was considering buying one, but stepped back for the following reasons:

- would have to buy new, having to swallow the high depreciation for the 1st years
- I was looking for a wagon
- technical Service net very thin
- I like newcomers, but when spending so much money I got a little bit conservative.
- Stock tanking quite a bit, future outlook uncertain
- took too long for them to get the cars into the salerooms, didn‘t want to stall buying decision anymore.

I wish them all the best, competition in the EV market helps us all getting better/cheaper products in the future. Maybe a 2nd/3rd generation is on the table for me.

i can feel what kind of leader Lucid has in the company. I am pretty sure that his employees are scared to tell him that luxury car buyers dont view efficency that much. Maybe for budget cars like Olie.

I am not quite sure about this assessment about Lucid's leader.

Lucid Air main design lead (and CEO/CTO) is Peter Rawlinson.
Peter established himself in the British automotive industry with Jaguar and then with Lotus and then Corus. He then moved to Tesla as the chief vehicle engineer for Model S before going to Lucid.

His biggest run-ins (while at Tesla) with Elon were about conflicts between potential buyer choices and Elon's design aspects for the Tesla.

If anything, Peter knows his buyers fairly well...

I test drove a 2024 Touring yesterday, very fast car - very disappointing steering!

really? there are two big reasons that I bought a lucid when my taycan lease expired.
1. RANGE, the range of the Lucid is the highest of any EV

2. Cost, the cost of leasing a lucid GT is almost half the cost of a similarly equipped Taycan.

that said the Lucid and Taycan are two very dissimilar cars, no car in the world can match the ride and feel of a porsche. while the lucid is a very good car it is not a taycan.

Exactly, more range but less buyers than Taycan.

Toyota Camry gets better mileage than a 911. Who cares?
A 911 driver cares who's stuck waiting an hour or so an EA station for a charger to become available, then for an EA phone rep to reset the station and resolve other handshake problems, and finally for the 911 to charge at a rate that starts merely in the low triple digits then drops into the single digits.
All while the Camry driver gets to arrive at the ultimate destination (with L2 overnight charging) not needing to charge in public b/c of the car's longer range from its superior efficiency.
(Okay, so substitute in Lucid and Taycan for Camry and 911.)

The 911 driver makes time in the turns, you can get on power early - massive traction.

Once again, there is no substitute.

I have a Turbo but also a Lucid Air DE-P. Very different cars. But as far as an all around car, the lucid smokes the taycan tbh. What makes the taycan special is the handling. The software is also more reliable with more options. But on paper, my DE-P pretty much manhandles my Taycan. If you want a luxury, decent handling rocket then lucid is a great option. If you want objectively the best performing EV on the track then look at the sapphire (pending 2025 Porsche track results). If you want a rougher sportier ride with the best handling in the game and lots of trade offs then the taycan is your pick.

If they can stay in business long enough to build their Gen2, and it's better looking and better put together than the current generation, I will seriously consider Lucid, their amazin efficiency being quite important to me. Good on them for their technical achievements.
