Hmmmm. The amount they charged me is ridiculous then. One thing to put something right, but another just to check. Inference was it was complicated procedure. Crappy, though i did browbeats them into a goodwill gesture.
Afraid I'd have told them to cover the Porsche service requirements for the quoted price or I'd collect the car and take it elsewhere.

Scheister behaviour should not be tolerated. That it is, is why these clowns get away with it.

I had none of this with my dealer.

I would speak directly to the service manager. My local dealer were insistent on email that they wouldn’t reduce the service cost for the brake fluid which was also being changed at the same time as the brake pipe recall. One email to the manager and he reduced the service by £179
Right outcome, but wtf was the first operative thinking?

A very long time ago I had a (not Porsche related) service bill that had been hugely over inflated. When I challenged it, the owner of the company told me most of his customers just pay the bill!

I let him know that maybe this would change in future when I let everyone know how crooked his billing was. An "agreement" was reached on what would actually be paid.

Yes, I hear you. The trouble is they described it as recommended (by the technician!) work rather than part of the service, hence it was extra. The fact that they obviously say it to everyone and throw the could invalidate warranty wording in there is definitely in sheister territory.

I’ll be making it very clear when I book in next time that I want everything on the quote, but I doubt the call centre the have will have a clue!

my local garage and the others in range are in same group and they’re all very busy. So it’s quite hard to walk away.

The sort of thing that puts people off the marque IMO.

"Recommended" works should be in no danger of invalidating warranty. Like when they recommend changing tyres when barely half worn.

This whole sort of behaviour reeks of them wanting to cling onto service income when it cannot be justified with EVs.

So my car is now due it's 2nd service and the level of conflicting information is disappointing.

Reading have quoted £475 for the service, £163 for a Visual inspection of underbody panels, steering, suspension, oil / fluid leaks, removal of wheels to check brakes.

Bristol have quoted £320 for the service and £510 for the door sill check.

Does the door sill check have to be done ?, or is this another way for Porsche to fleece us !. Porsche Reading didn't have anything on thier system to say my car needed the drainage holes checked !

Arrrrrg !! it's so annoying, I have no idea which OPC to believe.
I got quoted this yesterday from Reading. How can it go up £300 in 3 weeks?

They have difficulties in selling cars so they need to try to get income from wherever. Total scam

Had my first service for Taycan GTS (25k miles) at Porsche Guildford.
£702.30 including VAT .

Copy of invoice and all other docs attached.

They did attempt to try and say I needed Ducts and Drains checked, cleaned at £774.06 additional and that warranty wouldn't cover any water issues if I didn't. Mad considering it's not even 2 years old.
As well as flagging tyres as "Advisory" when 5mm left... lol.

Did you get a nice coffee?

I paid under £500. (Think it was £480).

Porsche need to stamp hard on the extras and the "ahhhhh, well if you don't and a warranty claim comes..." BS.

I also love the RAG statuses on tyres.

New, AIUI a tyre typically has 7mm-8mm of tread.

Legal limit is 1.6mm.

5mm is barely half worn.

At least on a normal car... On a Taycan it could be down to the canvas on the corner 2mm of the tyres....

Talking of tyres...something I brought up with the sales team the other day.

Car was brand new when I received.
First pair of front tyres lasted less than 10k miles. Inners were completely bald, down to the wires basically...
The replacement front pair I put on (same make/spec tyre) has done over 15k miles and they still have 5mm left.

Rears lasted 25k.

Only thing I can think of is the front tyres were not new when dealer handed me car....

Or maybe you drove a little more enthusiastically when you first had the car?
I did consider that.
But all my miles are daily commuting on the motorway in alot of traffic.

Bit of drastic difference from less than 10k miles to 15k miles with still 5mm left?
