Any guys with new facelift Taycans know if this video on the new cayenne is the same for us?

Thanks

It is what I have done on my new GT, except that I have it assigned to the diamond key on the dashboard. I have programmed the key on my steering wheel to control the electric sport sound.

Yep, same as the MY25 Taycan. Nanny state regulations.
Same on all cars for 2024 onwards in the UK and EU AFAIA.

The other half's Volvo does it too. Much quieter and more genteel than the Taycan's.

The bigger irritant is lane keep assist... grunting and tugging the wheel. Possibly OK for motorway/fast a-roads, but borderline dangerous on country roads.

At some point I imagine there'll be programming services to allow these things to be turned off properly.

My other half's mini does it, you can disable but it resets every time you turn the car off, defaulting to on. It's only a quiet gentle noise but still hugely frustrating.

Won't be too long before it doesn't only beep at you but also keeps a record of how fast you were going combined with your geolocation and then driving as we know it is over

In the Taycan you can set it to "with tolerances" which will make it beep later.
This is saved between drives.

For me that's usually acceptable enough. It's closer to GPS speed then, but I'd have to do a measurement to verify that.

I set my buttons to show surround view and play last track now, I use that more often.

The assisted drive mode button will show a small popup on the PCM where you can disable the acoustic warning as well.

When I get in the car I press the Diamond on the dash to silence the irritating speed limit warning, I then press the Diamond on the steering wheel to enable to electric sports sound (I heard that one way to freak out horses and cows is to creep up on them from behind in a silent EV. I live in the countryside so noise is highly desirable ?), I finally press and hold the button on the underside of the small stalk to disable lane keep assist.

Wish I'd known that last week!
