When I ordered there was no option for a 7.5m cable for between the charger unit to the car. (although I had the option on my previous Panamera).

I noticed it is an option now, I collected my car last Saturday, and asked about the cost of one, its £711 including vat.

So make sure you add it to your spec if your using a socket/mobile charger unit.

That's nuts.
I'm looking here instead: https://evonestop.co.uk/pages/cable-collections

I am very surprised if that was not a no cost option when you ordered the car. I would certainly not pay 711 GBP for that cable. Perhaps you could try to go back and talk to your sales person and ask that they provides one FOC? Seems crazy if the sales person did not advise you about it, but I guess it was very new for them as well.

I would hope they’d be willing to swap the 20 foot cable for your 6 footer. They are each no cost options.

I have one of these for my road trips. Its a 40 ft extension for the J1772 connector ($260). There are several 20ft extensions available but I wanted the 40ft option.

I carry it with me when I go to a relatives house and want to use their drier (NEMA 14-30) plug. I can leave the charging unit inside and just run the extension to the car. That way its safe for use in the rain.

If you try to extend the "supply side" plug end, then you may need a different cable for many of the plugs you might encounter. I keep a Mustart TravelMaster in the trunk (NOT the PMCC) and it has many different adapter cables (both 120v and 220v) and it uses the adapter cables to determine the max charging amps it should draw. IOW: You don't want to try and adapt a NEMA 10-50 down to a 14-30 as it will try and pull 40A which will blow the 30A breaker. By extending the "Car Side" of the charger you only need one type of extension cable and don't have to worry about a smart charger trying to pull more power than it should from an adapted connection.

Yeah, i actually still have a spare mobile charger from a previous Panamera E Hybrid that i wrote off, and it is a thinner cable so wouldn't use it on our 32amp supply at work.

It was the rep who quoted me, he said they couldn't get one FOC, a bit disappointing as we bought 2 cars.

I can live with it though, if not begrudgingly.

I’ve just been charged £350+VAT (which has a small discount applied) - the £700 price is on one system and on another system it’s almost half the price - so worth double checking - apparently what they told me was on the system they order through the lower price was showing And I probably got 10% off.

The 7.5m charging cable is a free 'upgrade' option when buying the Taycan atm. Don't know whether it was introduced with the MY21 Configurator. But I did at it to my spec after noticing it and measuring my garage. Glad I did now as I wouldn't want to pay £350-700! Would rather just pay the extra for an Andersen charger..
