I’m just curious if any of you regret buying / leasing your Taycan ?
I’ve got to say as much as I love the car I’m starting to get increasingly annoyed by the crappy quality in some areas, the app that works most of the time but not all of the time (can’t precondition today) and the blatant robbery when it comes to servicing etc, It’s certainly starting to lose its charm.
I don’t think I’d have got one if I knew what I know now.

Preheat to be clear rather than precondition (you can't do this manually)

Servicing - Porsche labour is expensive (we know this before crossing the threshold) and service charges available prior to purchasing if enquiries are made.

I know what I'm saying isn't helpful at all but DYOR before committing is a wise path to follow.

Well I never and therefore must apologise.

Says Preheat in the car and had assumed it said the same in the app. It is also referred to as Remote Climate Control within a Timer in the app. Inconsistency prevails.

It is actually preheating / precooling the cabin and typically preconditioning relates to the battery when DC charging.

At least your app knows you’re in the UK and have a RHD drive car - mine thinks I’m LHD and there is no obvious way to change / correct it.

Noticed today that preheat/preconditioning doesn’t seem to turn on the rear window demisting. Seems like that would be sensible

As the image in the app is showing, it is to preheat/precool the cabin only. Focusses on the seats that are selected. So no battery, no mirrors, no rear window heating

You need another option: reluctantly yes.
this category is for those who k ow the Taycan is currently the finest sporty EV but recognise that the price we pay is bugs, electeicsl failures, 2-month-long queues for service, etc etc.

Maybe another make will come and kick Porsche off its perch. Same quality road holding, but software and electrical reliability of a Tesla. Now that would be something.

In my view, a car should do something for you emotionally. As an EV, I think it’s the only car that meets that requirement for me. Would own another Porsche EV but I do feel like Porsche pricing makes another new Taycan a tougher proposition. Would have to see what is after the .2……while that one is more technically competent, it’s at the expense of the emotional piece I require.

Mine does but not always - not sure on the criteria but as we're in sub-zero temps and a ton of snow it does light up - I think the temp needs to be below a certain threshold as one of the parameters.

Also figured out the RHD / LHD image issue that I have. On my iPad it displays RHD (correct) and on my Android phone it is reversed which hilariously means the wrong seat is heated if just heating one of the front two.

Schoolboy error or another dig at Android by fanboy Porsche??
