I purchased my first 2023 Taycan at 10k miles. Now at 18,736 miles, my car is letting me know that I need to have it serviced. What does this entail? Does anyone have info on this as well as pricing? I'm in CA. TIA!

Also, you can call in your VIN to your dealer and they should give you a line item list of scheduled service. Don't hold your breath, at this mileage and age, it's likely just a brake fluid flush and a pollen filter change.

I read the DIY on the pollen filter and it was a PITA, but not worth paying $300 at the dealer, though you'll need to be handy and be able to access interior trim areas. Porsche didn't build the filter easily accessible. The brake fluid flush in theory can be done at any auto shop, but I would bring them Porsche or equivalent spec fluid.

Also note, since your car was likely a CPO and if you car completed the brake hose recall, a brake fluid flush was included in that recall. Have you dealer confirm that work was done on the car. If that work was well inside 2 years, then it's just pollen filter.

A slight correction on this… I had this debate with my SA.

The TSB for the brake recall does not require a brake “flush”… they can do the work by clamping or blocking the hoses and then doing a brake bleed, keeping the majority of the original fluid. A brake flush is a complete fluid change as it suggests.
I see some posts suggesting the dealer agreed to sign off on the 20k service without a flush because of the brake recall. TBH it’s hard to know if that is a lack of understanding with the SA, the OP or if the tech had decided to do a flush despite what the TSB states.

In my case … for what it costs… I wanted the brakes fully flushed so told them to do it as part of the service.

The simplest answer is that there is a service booklet with the manual that shows everything that needs to be done for the first service which is 2 years or 20k miles. Basically, it is inspection (labor), replacement of brake fluid, replacement of cabin filter, replacement of wiper blades, fob battery. The dealers will charge a set amount of hours to complete but the cost can vary greatly depending on the hourly labor rate they set.

I am not sure if you have gone through any recalls such as brake hose replacement, but mine in particular included full brake fluid flush given 2 associated campaigns, so I will not be paying for the brake fluid flush. Also, the cabin filter replacement is not too bad to do yourself and it cost $30 for 2 of them and 15 minutes of time to do - I can help with links to buy and instruction on how to replace. Also, wiper blades and fob battery replacement are easy and much cheaper to do yourself if you want further savings on the service. Then tires and alignment can be a big expense as tires wear out around 10k-20k depending on the type so at least get the tread depth measured.

My first service is next week. They have confirmed no need for a brake fluid flush. I'm at 11k kms so nt really wanting the expense of a brake fluid flush either way although they seem happy it was done with the brake line recall. I've also done the pollen filter myself.. Took me 15 mins. Very easy. They also wanted to change the wiper blades which are fine so I asked to leave that. So my Devis for the service is 359 euros which is still a rip off considering all they are doing is checking the car over.

My advice is ask for a quote and push for discount. The Taycan is a doddle for them so they should be prepared to discount. My dealer did.

The quick answer is that the rear is not flushed.

The longer answer is that techs get paid on "book time" to R & R the front brake hoses and the service bulletin does not mention bleeding the rear brakes, much less a full flush. The workshop campaign WPK0 is frequently done in conjunction with the brake hose replacement. This is a service campaign, not a recall, to address a low or inconsistent brake pedal. The procedure for "ventilating" the brakes is fairly complicated and involves using the PIWIS to activate various various components of the brake system. So a proper brake flush at the 2 year service would take a tech some time and involve much more than bleeding the front hoses after they were replaced.

kind of what I thought. so those folks who avoid the brake fluid replacement at first service because of the front hose replacement recall are running around with old fluid in their rear brake lines and callipers. doesn’t seem ideal. I guess it’s not too bad in a Taycan that doesn’t use physical brakes much.

Great information! Thank you for this. I don't recall that specific recall (ha!) but I'll definitely ask them about it and see what can be done. I'd never want to jeopardize my warranty (just in case!) so I'll let them charge me $500 to change the filter.

To the OP:
Save yourself a small fortune by changing the wipers and pollen filter. If your are industrious buy a brake fluid tester about $15 on Amazon. Now, if you are really a DIY individual, blow out the drain lines with an air compressor. Document everything with receipts and video of the work. This should save you at least $1,500 in CA. The whole service is a joke to support dealers.

I just went through this with PCNA with over 50k in warranty work with my GT3. After documenting all the work I performed by myself, they folded like a cheap suit.
