Minor Hate - Daily annoyances that make me unhappy

1. Ingress and egress. I despise getting in and out of this car, something that has only worsened over time. Exacerbating the problem, I have to manually move the wheel forward and seat back when I get out, and reverse when I get in. (I've programmed seat memory buttons 2 and 3 for this purpose.). So annoying.
2. The PCM. I realized the other day I haven't had radio issues in a while...and I also realized it's because I've given up on playing music or podcasts in the PCM, and I just use Carplay. The only thing I use the PCM for is the map, which works reasonably well, except....
   1. Why does the map warn me about wrong-way driving that is happening miles and miles away?
   2. Why does the map tell me alternate routes are available, without presenting a way to select one?
   3. Why does the map think every single place in the world is a "restricted access route?"
   4. Why is sending a destination from the phone such a hit-or-miss proposition?

Super Hate - Issues that make me want to send it directly to the crusher

1. When I do the "Taycan Squeeze" to get in, and my key (in pocket) contacts the steering wheel, opening the frunk. This makes me so angry and it happens multiple times per week. My mother-in-law's Hyundai has a phone key FFS, why do I still need this stupid fob??
2. Sometimes when approaching the car, the door handles open up, anticipating my arrival...then the second I go to reach for the handle they snap shut with "chirp chirp!" Tugging on the handle won't open it and I have to get out my stupid keyfob - like an animal - and unlock it. I genuinely feel the car is doing it on purpose and laughing at me.

Just for the sake of it to annoy the Stealership. As they have annoyed us for years (heater, OBC 22 kw, brakes, battery....and ongoing).

I think this happens when the PCM uses Google POI database as the destination. If it finds what you are looking for within its internal POIs or the HERE service then it doesn't happen. No clue why it treats Google POIs differently.

My old Model S used to do this all the time, with the added bonus of trying to smash my fingers in the retracting handle. At least your Taycan only chirps! With that said, I don’t think my Taycan has ever done this to me, so not sure why yours is doing it.

It hates me, that's why. The feeling is mutual, which makes me sad. Only Porsche I've ever had (my 9th) that made me feel this way.

You are not wrong about these being first world problems.

And you hit on the exact problem: there's not a car I want right now.
I want my old Targa...but not ICE.
An e-Boxster would be a great workaround, if it existed.

OMG mine did it all the time. It's a Taycan thing though, the same option on my 911 Targa (with the same handles) has never done it.

Mine used to do this too. The model S (which eventually stopped) and the 2023 Taycan still does.

I agree with many of these - especially the way the seat does not go back when you unlock the door. However, next time if you specify the Active Ride option, the car will leap up a few inches when you open the door handle, and I find this makes entry/exit much more comfortable.

Perhaps you had a couple more birthdays go by?

If you have it enabled, seat should move on its own (and steering wheel, if you have powered steering column, which many cars since COVID did not). However, for them to move for egress, you have to shut the car off with the button before you attempt to exit, otherwise if you just open the door and exit, they will stay in place until you lock the car (and it shuts off) and they you unlock it and open the door. It's a poor design choice, I know, especially that they tested Model S when building Mission E, so they could have just copied "move seat back when door opens and seat belt unbuckled" - simple, functional, and intuitive.

PS> I started to raise my suspension in the garage, makes egress and ingress easier. Of course it might be the reason why my car now makes squealing noises whenever I leave the garage, and continue to make them for the first mile or so (unrelated from brake cleanup, squeals even with no brake applied).
