Eh, the Lucid tops out at 50kW on the 400V Tesla SCs. Seems like it would be better for Lucid owners to just find the nearest EA site instead.
I wonder why Lucid didn't include the DC-DC converter to get more out of 400V.
Yes, that’s why I described it as the largest 50kW DCFC network. Oh the irony for Lucid owners!
I suspect the lack of any boosting or splitting was because TSCN access was never anticipated at the time. Ditto for Taycan offering that as an option not standard. Although then again, almost everything is an option with Porsche! But at least with the J1.2 it’s not standard.
Note that the Gravity gets into the 200s kW with TSCN. So across all available DCFC in North America, Gravity is definitely the fastest.

And Acura / Honda just got Supercharger access also...list ahead of us getting smaller......still predicting December (or later!)

Honda And Acura EV Owners Can Now Use Tesla Superchargers
Interesting... reading article reveals that Honda/Acura app integration is not ready yet, they are instructed to install the Tesla app once they buy the Honda branded adapter.

I bet VAG could be turned on today if they made a similar concession to defer app availability. Perhaps they will if the VAG adapter part # starts showing as available?

Based on how fast others are moving, I would think *before* December 2025 is now within reach for VAG.

just to be clear - _ANY_ adapter will work - none of these adapters are 'active' - they are passive adapter that just bridge the electrical connections from one plug shape to the other plug shape…

so you can purchase and use any adapter that is available once your vendor's vehicle type is added to the approved list for Superchargers.

My KIA EV6 has Tesla access and the ONLY way I use it is via the Tesla app..no big deal (and KIA's app is not mature by all reports..). I suspect you are right: Manufacturers want to (try to) control the process - but that is not critical (and inevitably not as smooth as direct use of the Tesla app).

They also want to capture the profit margin on selling the branded adapter for $225-$250 like Honda is doing.
Like was said above, any adapter *should* work. The car talks CCS directly with the charger, the adapter is passive.

Amen brother. If they had their way, I would need a "KIA" adapter and a "Porsche" adapter ..that's bull..I bought a Lectron and it works fine for both.

status as of today from Tesla.com - VW/Audi/Porsche are listed "last" - but who knows…Honda and Acura are listed separately - interesting - I'd be unsurprised if Acura already worked - I can't imagine there is actually a technical difference.

there are basically 4 1/2 vendors left…
  • BMW
  • JLR
  • Honda/Acura (1/2 is done)
  • Toyota/Subaru
  • VW/Audi/Porsche

So a 1.5 years given current deployment speeds (about a vendor per quarter)? Perhaps more as Porsche typically blows all their patch/rework/remedy schedules.

Ok I can charge on Magic Dock now. What on earth is the extra step Porsche has to do to get SC access? Give Tesla a list of VINs?

I thought it was strange that Honda was A-listed but still not Acura. I imagine that it is something along the lines of VIN lists although it's too bad they didn't start with the easy one like Porsche EVs.

Yes, VIN is how the charger determines whether a vehicle is authorized to initiate charging, however that is not at all the hold up here.
The partnership agreement has not been signed / announced by either Tesla or VAG.
We don't know what the hold up on the agreement is, but it's definitely not just a list of VINs Tesla needs to be told about.

They announce vendors joining the network daily now, yesterday was Lucid and today is Honda, hopefully VW is next week.
