New MY2026 Taycan 4 CT Received - Oak Green Neo (also selling it :D)

Here goes the new thread, I posted before that I had successfully switched my MY25 order to MY26, and here it is, together with new PCM pics.

From what I can tell so far:
- PCM is much faster, but not quite as snappy as the Macan one, although very close
- PCM is improved, there's an app store indeed (see screenshots), but not same breadth of apps as on the Macan
- It doesn't seem to be based on Android, it looks like a refresh shell plus indeed faster hardware underneath (I'd say snappier by a lot than the previous PCM).
- YouTube works great and loads fast when used with the 5G Vodafone internet you get included. (5GB per month included)
- Vivaldi browser works fast!
- I see Dolby Atmos app, but didn't test it yet.

Now the interesting news... its not an ad by far, but the car is for sale (as new obviously, delivered yesterday by Porsche Leusden, 95km on the odometer), since we also ordered an E53 AMG as 2nd car, but have since decided to relocate to Dubai, so we will keep just one car, and it will be the AMG - if interested, PM me on the Taycan, car is in Amsterdam. EUR 141K catalogue, can be picked up for 128.5K (obviously we can discuss a bit more movement).

Same PCM hardware part, as MY20-MY25. Just different software version - 4578 , more optimized, snappier indeed, but 4360 on MY25 was already much snappier than 3885/3882 on MY20-MY24 - but it is all software, no hardware changes.

Let us know if you get to test that new dolby sound and if it makes any big difference. Pitty no Brumeister, as it would likely be better on that.

Rear camera is also supposed to be better, due to new software/updated software processing the video. Curious if you get to test that also

YouTube actually looks great. I believe it only works in parked, correct? Any ads in it?

because both Porsche press release as internal brief clearly stated new hardware. And I know that a lot can be optimized by SW, but it’s literally way snappier while it handles much more (games, more complex apps, lightning fast browsing), lag free YouTube (even in QHD / 4K).

In terms of the unit itself, if you look to buy a replacement, a 2020 unit is compatible with a 2026 car, and a 2026 car is compatible with a 2020. When we looked at one on monday, my dealer said it's same hardware, in terms of the central computer unit - the pcm. It's still PCM6.

There is new hardware for the Dolby Atmos feature, sure, but it's not in that unit.

Looks great enjoy! Bummer that Leusden didn’t use their special room to reveal/hand over your new car. I got mine at the same spot and it didn’t feel special at all to me.

Porsche changes part numbers all the time.
Upgrades, different manufacturer, etc.

It’s worth noting that Panamera and 911 are also upgraded as of MY26 supposedly with same new HW and SW

It actually does, since it specifically has a different part number starting from a certain model year, and if you input a MY2026 VIN into partslink it only gives you that controller as an option, according to partslink and Porsche EPC the newer PCM are NOT compatible with the older cars, contrary what has been said here.

This is a MY25, and the only one compatible is DD.

That said, 24.11.2024 would also be a MY25 car, so either the hardware is the same or late MY25 cars got updated hardware.

Could also well be that it's all software BS and they will all be updated to the latest version at some point.

New HW PCM discussion aside - drove the car a bit today, some observations vs the Macan4 and previous Taycan4 CT:

- launch control start is way more fun, you can feel the initial kick much more pronounced. Didn’t dragy it, but feels very much on par with my E53 that does 0-100 in 4.2-4.3 sec (measured).
- regular (non launch control) start is also way faster, especially the first second compared to old Taycan 4.
- handling and stability in the refresh model is amazing, this is a weapon - just point it and it goes exactly to that direction, no wandering off, no misalignments, extreme precision
- turn / curves - even less sway, I’d say virtually none, wouldn’t even know why you’d need the active ride suspension on this car - while useful on a Panamera for example, the new Taycan stays super flat in any kind of curved and turns
- regen break still needs to break in, but it’s already very efficient - easily hitting 17kwh / 100km, I haven’t seen that in my old 4CT ever, not even in range mode and 25c weather. They really did upgrade the efficiency.
- still to test Dolby Atmos. But regular Bose sounds worse than my Burmester in the E53 AMG. Less wide soundstage and less precision I’d say, less rich sound overall. BUT it’s better than the Bose on the Macan, not by much but clearly better.

Overall I’d rate the pre face lift Taycan4 CT an 8/10 and the new one 8.5/10.

this year seems to be different, where the manufacturing of the new MY started earlier.
