For the MY26, it’s a while that the configurator is already online.
I have 2 offers from the dealer clearly noted that they are for model year 2026.
No 22kw obc but as mine failed couple of times, I might be ok to charge slower in some places if it doesn’t break anymore.

Reading the announcement it does seem to indicate a change of system rather than improvements. It refers to a fundamental change, new hardware and it doesn't say it is an update to the existing system. Also, if it’s using the same App Centre as the Macan then wouldn’t they be Android apps ?

I am a bit wary of commenting on this as last time I confirmed I was happy with the Macan system I was severely criticised.

We are not discussing philips screws, are we? We are discussing the reality of today.
We are discussing ability to recover a bricked hardware including when the OS image is completely corrupt. The OS selection has about as much relevance as the screws. Let's leave the subject of reality to forums contemplating whether or not the world is real or we're living in a Matrix type experiment. ;)

Just get a tesla if you care about a practical, easy to use and fast UI ?

I’ll take my model S any day of the week for long Road trips over Taycan. Mainly because it’s so much easier./ in the Taycan I’m always fapping around with dozens of apps…

the software isnt good, nor fast. The screen is way too small..

Well

Well
I've done coast to coast road-trips in both Model S and a Taycan. Both cars did quite well. While the Model S has a bigger screen. the Taycan has a HUD which I found more useful for directions, especially after driving for many hours and eyes getting tired, it was less tiring looking at the HUD than the instrument cluster and/or other screens. I also enjoyed being able to use other apps, such as Waze, which would show me police speed traps, accidents, hazards on the road, etc - Tesla does not show all those and has no way to connect to app on my phone. When driving with a copilot, I get utilize the passenger screen to show a different nav app too, plus when passenger wants to browse for new music, I don't lose the nav screen for driving. Bottom line, each car has its advantages and disadvantages for road trips.

The configurator is not out for MY26 as far as I know, and all these people saying that they will get a MY26 in august were likely misinformed. If you can't configure a MY26, the manufacturing line was not changed (it's usually done in august during manufacturing break), and therefore no MY26 can be assembled.
In the configurator, it literally says "Taycan 4S 2026" (on the top-right of the screen). Also, On my order, to says:
"Uw Taycan 4S (your Taycan)
model 2026"

I would presume that means model-year 2026.. My sales advisor confirmed it would be MY 2026. It is scheduled to leave the factory beginning of august.
We'll see...

My Taycan will be delivered in August as model year 2026 (in Switzerland). It specifically says model year 2026 in the purchase contract and the dealership explicitly confirmed it in writing again.

New MY2026 delivered, posted a thread, see link below.
I can already spill the beans - same OS it seems, just newer shell, newer graphics, yes to the app store, no not as many apps to choose from as on Android / Macan (but plenty still).
Youtube works great, Vivaldi works great! Dolby Atmos app there, need to test what it does still.
