this year seems to be different, where the manufacturing of the new MY started earlier.

this very thread you are replying in is made by someone that got a my26
Sorry, I misread. Thought it was a US customer. Thanks for the clarification :)

New HW PCM discussion aside - drove the car a bit today, some observations vs the Macan4 and previous Taycan4 CT:

- launch control start is way more fun, you can feel the initial kick much more pronounced. Didn’t dragy it, but feels very much on par with my E53 that does 0-100 in 4.2-4.3 sec (measured).
- regular (non launch control) start is also way faster, especially the first second compared to old Taycan 4.
- handling and stability in the refresh model is amazing, this is a weapon - just point it and it goes exactly to that direction, no wandering off, no misalignments, extreme precision
- turn / curves - even less sway, I’d say virtually none, wouldn’t even know why you’d need the active ride suspension on this car - while useful on a Panamera for example, the new Taycan stays super flat in any kind of curved and turns
- regen break still needs to break in, but it’s already very efficient - easily hitting 17kwh / 100km, I haven’t seen that in my old 4CT ever, not even in range mode and 25c weather. They really did upgrade the efficiency.
- still to test Dolby Atmos. But regular Bose sounds worse than my Burmester in the E53 AMG. Less wide soundstage and less precision I’d say, less rich sound overall. BUT it’s better than the Bose on the Macan, not by much but clearly better.

Overall I’d rate the pre face lift Taycan4 CT an 8/10 and the new one 8.5/10.
They change the throttle mapping on the facelift and increased the horsepower a bit. That's why it feels better :) And the new 2 chamber air suspension is better then the old 3 chamber one. Makes handling and the ride better. The active ride is a hole nother planet, have to try it and push the car a bit to feel the difference. I tracked the facelifted turbo s with active ride, it's amazing :)

What seats are those? I thought all latest Taycans only come with 2 tone leather seats.

Today pushed both the new Taycan and the new AMG E53 back to back (driving one, then direcltly the other) through some driving tests:

1) Accelerations with most aggressive sport+ setting, assists in sport or off, 0 > ~150kmh (value my licence somewhat so didn't push harder). Taycan clear winner here, although the AMG does pull a higher G-force initially. Taycan maxed out 0.79G, AMG 0.9G. But AMG does drop between shifts a bit, Taycan obviously sustains. I believe both cars hit 0-100kmh in around 4.2 - 4.3 sec. 100 to 150kmh less predictable in the AMG (depending on the shifts and kick down) - sometimes very fast, sometimes a bit of turbo lag / kickdown timeout, very predictable in the Taycan, but perhaps slightly slower acceleration overall compared to best runs from the AMG.

2) Handling - sharp turns, mid-turn cornering, max acceleration on exit. Entry & Mid-turn cornering all the way Taycan. Exits - I'd say to AMG, its just insane how much power it delivers, albeit with a slight build up time.

3) Comfort & finding the most comfortable ride setting. This is a tricky one. But I'd say Taycan' Gravel mode setting is most suitable for city driving on cobblestone roads + negotiating speedbumps. Overall the rid is not as plush of course as in the AMG in the Comfort Mode, it literally glides, while still offering precision in its Comfort mode or pure EV setting. Overall - I'd give this one to AMG.

4) Seating position - here I'd give it to Taycan again. While AMG seats are more comfortable overall, the Taycan allows you to sit lower, at a more tilted backwards angle and the seat length extension is longer (surprisingly), if you are tall (1.85M+) probably AMG seat base is a bit too short.

Great write up.

Your Taycan would benefit from an upgrade.

One question on MY26 PCM. Does the lower screen trackpad still works to navigate or scroll. I got a CT MY26 and to my surprise, the lower screen trackpad inputs are almost entirely disable. I see only few gestures still available- two finger vertical slide for volume adjustment and zooming/out for map. No more switch between apps, scrolling of select inputs on mine.

The central display has a background image. Is that MY26 specific or 4578 software?
