I might try turning it off as well as I have a long journey on Sunday.
I’ve also raised a ticket with Porsche Germany by calling Porsche Connect and having a bit of a moan.
My dealer has also raised a ticket so the more people who raise one the more chance Porsche will look at it.
Where did you raise your ticket? I’ll do the same

I called the Porsche Connect phone number listed on the Porsche App under Contact. It was a UK number and the email address is [email protected]

after calling them they raised the ticket for me and even emailed back

For me it freezes even without charger planner; on a short road of 90km to work and back.

So I think you guys either experience placebo or are lucky.

Well I’ll report back tomorrow. All I will say is that once I had turned it off, it managed to pick up every junction and motorway lane change symbol perfectly which has been unheard of for my car for a while. The restarting thing has been getting worse and worse though.

I’m going to set up a GoPro and video the system being rubbish and contact my Porsche centre (Rotterdam) once I have some useful video showing the glitches.
I drove to the uk a few days ago and the Porsche navigation was absolutely useless. Not only did it hang and not announce any instructions but it also crashed once and also screwed up charge planning by not realising I’d done my first charge stop and constantly trying to get me to charge again.
My car is still under warranty, this is a feature I paid for and it should work.

I will also consider getting PID reimbursed as it is utterly useless without navigation working.

Mine is back in again. They don’t have much hope of fixing it themselves and need to escalate it to Porsche AG. They can’t just swap the PCM without approval, but it looks like they’re aiming to replace the unit.

Mine is booked in for 1st October and have also logged with smartmobility by email.

I did have exactly the same issue driving from Reims towards Marseille. The first planned charge stop stayed in the system for a long time.

Not only did it mess up my navigation, but worse was that it never switched off the preheating of the battery. My battery was 41 to 44 C during a 190 km trip. The overll consumption for that leg was close to 30 kWh/100 km, ie nearly 45% more than normal

After the needed charging stop I made a 12 V battery disconnect, which at least stop the preheating and battery temperature returned to the normal range around 31 C. Consumption also normalised.

There certainly has been a bug introduced in some PCM software.

Haven’t had the pre-heating remaining on happenings yet, but you do have me scared for my vacation trip now 😅

This can’t be good for the battery health either

What I would be very interested to know is how widespread this is. There doesn’t seem to be an issue in any regions except Europe, so what is different about our cars and US or Asian models. Is it just map data for example of also the mapping algorithms - could be a rather useful way to eliminate variables.

It's frustrating - I almost missed the turnoff for the charging station on a motorway with 8% of charge remaining - not enough to go to the next junction to return or to the next charging station. Pretty stressful.

I guess it is not the best for the battery, no. I do not remember what values the battery is in Sport or Sport Plus mode though.

I think I know the reason for this happening now though. When we navigated to the first charging stop, planned by the navigator, the battery did not reach the required temperature of bout 40 C. The Ionity station at Reims had also been extended quite a lot so I remember Seeing a white flag about 50 meters down the line, where the old stations were placed. We did not leave the car or locked either. That likely resulted in the preheating not shutting off. At the second charging stop we also did not lock or depart since there was nothing around at Troyes.

Maybe the simple action of leaving the car and locking it while charging will reset the pre conditioning of the battery?

The ideal temperature is 35, not 40, from what I remember for fast charging.

Also, plugging in a charger, of any speed, will turn off any pre-conditioning. So if it didn't do that, something is definitely wired.

I have seen my battery reach as much as 50 degrees on one occasion, but it was in summer south of Italy, when outside it was 45 and I was high speed charging. I am assuming there weren't 40 degrees outside in your case

Do you all have HUD? They just updated that driver/ecu too and during the test drives they did not encounter issues. They will keep the car for another day to do some additional test drives.

of course during the test drive together with my dealer there were no problems ☹.
