Hi all

I have a 2021 4S Performance and are thinking of upgrading to a new 2027 GTS.

Besides Active Ride and e-shift I miss more power in my 4S and are would like to hear from other owners who went from 4S (J1.1) to a GTS (J1.2), if the jump HP/Torque is noticeable in SportPlus (with and without Push to pass)?

Or I have to save up money for longer in order to get a Turbo? (Also 2027 model)?

I haven’t driven the new one but I would estimate that it’s significant. The key here is that it’s not needed on the road. A 4S of any year is really quick.

I went from J1.1 4S to J1.1 Turbo - I think this would be the same power difference that you would get moving to a new GTS. You will definitely notice a significant difference. Much more powerful. I can’t imagine driving anything much faster on a road (although there is bound to be someone out there with a turbo S or GT that will disagree 😊). I think the new turbo and faster versions might be overkill unless you plan to track it

Yeah - for some there’s no such thing as fast enough 😊 Good point comparing 4S to Turbo (J1.1) - I believe the Turbo has 625 HK in normal mode which is close to GTS 600 HK (700 HK in Push to pass).

I have a j1.1 GTS and currently have a j1.2 GTS on loan - even between those two there is a noticeable difference!

This is J1.1 vs. J1.2 before GTS came out:

J1.1 4S PB+ would be 360kW in Normal and 420kW in Launch.
J1.2 GTS would be 445kW in Normal and 515kW in Launch.

Cool - thanks for sharing. The J1.1 GTS was aslo very close to the 4S Performance where J1.2 GTS got a big power bump compared to the 4S Performance.

The distinctive attributes for the GTS are:
1. GTS specific performance tuned steering, PTV and suspension, IMO this is very distinctive and makes the GTS feel like a different car
2. Race-Tex is standard in the GTS. Many people option out the Race-Tex to leather, which bothers me. This is one of the main features, looks cool, and people are paying MORE not to have it.
3. Sports Design body - less distinctive in the j1.2

If you only care about power, the j1.2 4S is already noticeably quicker than my j1.1 GTS. So going to a 4S may be sufficient for you. Again if it's just straight line speed you care about, the any j1.2 4S and above trim would feel faster.

My review of the GTS vs 4S (though this is a j1.1 GTS vs j1.2 4S):

Hi, I had a 2021 4S with a the Performance Battery and went to a 2025 J1.2 GTS (not new but 6 months old). It is a great upgrade in terms of performance, I was originally going to go for the Turbo 2025, but the new GTS has more power than the old Turbo and to be honest, I do not need any more power than what I have now. The interior feels a lot more special than the standard 4S or even the Turbo in my view. The push pass is excellent and gives and extra boost of power that was not available in the 4S unless you used the launch which i rarely did, but the push to pass I use a fair bit, not because I need the power to pass, just because it is great fun.

Get the MapEV tune to really unlock the potential and save the $$$ from not needing to buy another model.
This.

$2500 to get 720 horsepower all the time in your 4S or $100,000 to upgrade to a new GTS.

If more power is the desire, it seems like any easy decision.

My J1.1 with a MapEV tune ran a 10.9 at 128 mph in the 1/4 mile. And it has that power all the time (no launch control needed).

That’s basically identical to a 2025+ GTS when it uses launch control.

So from a dig, 27 GTS would be slightly faster with launch control, from a roll a tuned 1.1 4S will be noticeably faster.
