I now have this issue. PCM Nav constantly crashes and reloads the map loosing the destination and plan. I'm on PCM 3882 and in France. I recently did a software update but this has not updated the PCM version.

So the question is do I need to get this version installed by the dealer. I though we could do OTA.

Thanks
PCM updates are not OTA because there is no rollback mechanism, and any update interuption permanently bricks the hardware.

Anyone saying they will be done OTA is clueless. There is capability of it being done OTA, but it does not mean it's going to be done, as it can brick the hardware without a rollback system.

Only apps are updated OTA. The Communication modules has histrorically received small updates to what stuff is flagged in the logs from the BMS, as part of the "battery monitoring system". Other than that, everything is done in service.

Just back from having update to 3892 by Porsche Chester - took 2.5 hours (a record?) .. nice coffee - then just time to walk to a barbers for a haircut and got the call 'all done' .. great customers service as usual ... All good on way back home, but only ~20 miles.. so not a proper test yet.

Mine is crashing the Sat Nav every couple of miles so can't manage 20.

I just received one of those "battery monitoring" updates as OTA. Before 3892 even those tend to fail.

Now a couple thousands kilometres with 3892 and I haven't seen any PCM glitches.

I have done about 2000 kms since 3892 was installed. Currently on a road trip across Germany, Italy, Switzerland etc and the experience has mostly been good.

But not faultless: the navigation has done a couple of reboots while driving, and yesterday the PCM got so sluggish that I had to perform the two-finger reset.

An observation was that as the PCM startet struggling, more and more of the options brougt by 3892, simply disappeared. Charging stations was not identified in the maps according to filter settings etc.

My car still has its original HW, maybe it’s showing signs of age or some sort of incompatibility with the latest SW version.

Or maybe the high temperature outside the car was to much for the computer…🤔
