I dropped my Taycan off at the dealership for service, and they sent me the standard wear-and-tear inspection report.
The rear brake pads measured 7 mm, which they marked as green, but the car only has 9,000 miles on it. Front pads measured 9 mm. Curious how other Taycan owners are tracking on rear pad wear. Does 7 mm at 9,000 miles seem normal, or are others seeing less wear at similar mileage?

Yes, this is normal. Brake pads are only replaced due to age at a 6 year mark and never for wear, so do not get into the dealer trap to replace brake pads.

I received my CPO in early December 2025 with 500 miles and standard brakes, was delivered to me with 8mm Front and 9mm Rear, according to the CPO report:

Porsche Taycan Brake pad wear 1783442599643-9

In mid May 2026 I had some rattles looked at (at 2800 miles) and their standard inspection report lists 9mm Front and 7mm Back (the front grew 1mm and the back lost 2mm).

It's not clear who was wrong (I didn't ask for a follow up) but the CPO inspection also had the wrong measures on the tires (I had the sales guy take a picture of the tire being measured and cleared that one up).

It's clear they can't be trusted to measure things. Question any measures they give you and ask them to show you.

As long as they’re “fine” does an exact measurement really matter? Would it change anything if they showed you and both were really 8mm?

Unless I end up racing around a track, I don’t expect to need to change the pads in the lifetime I own the car.

Based on the break pad, rotor and tires measures in the CPO report, at only 500 miles, I assumed it was tracked and almost didn't get the car. The Sales person assured me it wasn't (it's was from a long term customer of his) and follow up measures made me feel a better. As @DerekS found with his brakes, their CPO inspection is suspect at best.

Yeah in that situation it definitely would matter. 👍
