- 2023 Base model Taycan

Three months, 6400 miles. Reading everyone’s posts can be a little scary because the problems being posted about can sometimes be serious. I realize that the great majority of Taycan owners on this forum have few to no problems, but monitor the site due to genuine interest in the car. I kind of fall into that category. Here’s a little brief update on just one Taycan.
PRO: As everyone knows, this is one gorgeous car. It is truly head turning, which is pretty cool in and of itself. I only have the base model, but it is plenty quick enough for me. (I can’t even imagine the trouble I would get into if I had a turbo!) The range estimator is pretty accurate and I agree with someone else’s description of the AC as "arctic". I have had no issue with the car charging from either side of vehicle. I have only fully charged to 100% one time when making a brief trip about 200 miles away round-trip. I usually charge up every night at my house to 85% which provides a range of about 225 to 235 miles. biggest pro of all: it drives like a Porsche.
CON: About four or five days after getting the car, I started the car one morning, but was greeted with a blank screen with just “Taycan“ on display. Nothing else. I was, however, able to drive the car. Needing to get to work, I then drove to work without incident and parked. When I returned to the car and turned it on, it was back to normal. This happened one other time about a month later, and I simply turned the car off, went back into the house and made a few phone calls, came back out about 30 minutes later and restarted the car and everything was fine. A similar issue popped up twice concerning the AC. I started the car one morning and the usual frigid air was not blowing cold. I turned the car off and then back on, and the problem was fixed. Same thing happened a few weeks later with the same fix. I have come to the conclusion that the car really is like a giant computer and while it won’t fix every problem, turning it off and then turning it back on really does fix some of the issues (at least in my case). The biggest negative in my opinion really isn’t with the car, but the charging network in my area (Louisiana). Simply put: not enough charging stations (nearest supercharger 45 miles away), ICE parked at EV charging stations, no available charging stations due to other vehicles charging, non-operational charging stations for days at a time.
Having said all of that, my car certainly meets my daily driving needs, (although in a perfect world, I‘d have 300 miles of range on an 85% charge).
GRADE: A (I can’t help it, I really love this car.)?
