25 years after ordering the first generation of water cooled 911 (a ‘98 911-996 Carrera 2), and driving that car with pride and pleasure for a quarter century, I have taken the plunge and gone electric…
Cars are very different now compared to 25 years ago, and I was blown away by the handling and agility of the Taycan GTS. So this is my build, indicated delivery end September 2023.

After reading a lot of comments on this forum, I think outspoken members may question some decisions made, but well, all this is highly personal. So here are my “design parameters”
- kept the outside as standard (discreet is probably not a good word in this context) as possible
- maintained the standard 20” for riding comfort and autonomy, included the sound isolating windows to make the car even more silent/comfortable, but not the black tinted windows.
- removed all external references to GTS, no need for neighbors to know
- Included the Olea Black/Atacama beige leather and wood, and included as much as possible additional leather in the interior, a pity that the “wooden steering wheel” isn’t available on the taycan
- As i am not planning to attend track-days, I did not specify the PDCC, i don’t see this as useful.
- I did include night vision, based on experience living in different countries.
- Did include innodrive with ACC and ALK and LCA to reduce driving effort in the too many structural traffic jams on the badly maintained motorways in our country, and RAS Rear Wheel Steering for agility, PASM and PTV+ are included in the GTS package.
- Also included the heat-pump (for efficiency), 22kW-AC on board charger (5-hours home-charging), the electric charging door (because it’s fancy) and the PRIM, the 150kW-DC charger is standard here.
- Ordered the wall box and PMCC charger (I understand that the European 400V version is much better than the US 110V version), with the Home Energy manager (to charge from Solar Pannels)
- Consciously Not included Porsche comfort Entry for security reasons (after bad experience with a BMW X5 in Mexico)
So in short: as «plain» as possible on the outside, as «non-plastic» as possible on the inside, and as focussed on «driving-pleasure» as possible (but also with automation for the Belgian Motorways).
Suggestions and comments are welcome.
And that was my first and introductory posting on the forum. Now crossing fingers for september.
