Extended warranty again. Certainly had my moneys worth.
Were they all broken?
I can't imagine all heaters broke down actually...

In my country that's not only covered by extended warranty but also by regular consumer rights.
You may expect the part that was replaced will work for a reasonable period of time.
So, even if people may be out of Porsche warranty there's still our consumer rights.

Porsche App informed me of my heater failure.....

I understand that 'the heater' is now on revision 7.

Parts 9J1 963 507 c, d, e and F then PAD 963507, A and B

Good news - All replaced in less than a day.

Bad news - '24 Model with PAD 963507.
replaced with PAD 963507 B
I just had mine replaced for the 2nd time, the part number on the invoice PAD-936-5070A. Not sure if they just use a standard part number on invoice or really gave my car the original heater version. Next time I dive into the frunk for something (might have a project coming up which will require it) I will check out the actual part number on the HV heater part itself.

The part fitted has the B suffix - allegedley. Part number was read to me.
Whatever you say, I am just telling you that my Porsche parts catalogue says it does not exist, and dealers use the same one.
Only thing I can think of is if RHD and LHD are different somehow.

My heater went today too. J1 2022 model. Passenger side works but below par. Driver's side blowing cold. Just what you need when it's getting colder.

And I had the heater replaced in 2024 under the recall.

If passenger side works it's not the HV heater that is dead, but most likely one or more servo motors driving cooling/heating system related valves. I recently had both the HV heater and a couple servo motors replaced when my heat died completely. It's possible the valves failed first and I just didn't notice until HV heater died.

If you have an OBD2 tool, or the tcan pro for Ethernet scanning, you can scan the car for errors and see what failed.

I did wonder if it was one of the valves. Having seen pictures of the plumbing nightmare that is the Taycan HVAC, it's hugely complicated. Another weak point, to add to the rear view camera and the crazy charging nonsense. But I still love the car!

Booked in for 2nd week Jan 🤞

There is a large batch of those valves that are faulty, my car had 12000km on it and two went out. One in the footwell and another one for the rear. Result was only cold air blowing from the left rear vent.

I'd wager if you have heat at least somewhere in the car it's one of the valves that's given up the ghost. They get stuck.

The "rats nest" of pipes in the Taycan was resolved within the first year of production (replaced by a single piece manifold, like Teslas), so only a real early adopter teething pain. From what I gathered, there must have been a bad batch of servo motors used in a few places of the Taycan HVAC. In my case, the air recirculation and front windshield defrost servo motors were replaced (same part number for both). The HV heater has been just a disaster though (my 2023 Taycan is on its 3rd one) - I really wish I could hear the inside story on this one sometime. Similar story on the 22kW OBC (on my second one, and I hear Porsche is telling people replacing it with half-performance 11kW OBC is just fine, because Porsche sees absolutely zero value in the option they sold to people).

Like you, I still love the car, just made peace with the fact that it spends 1 month a year in service. I just with I could get an EV loaner to drive for those time, instead of ICE.

Ironically my last Porsche (a 964) had a fantastic heater. Virtually instananeous, plenty of heat to defrost the windscreen, toasty feet...

Not so good in the summer without aircon though.

Not ironic at all, the heater in the 964 is called an internal combustion engine, which generated plenty of surplus heat energy (majority of energy from gasoline it turned into heat, only a small part of it goes towards moving the car).
