If you want to charge to 100%, you need to "change" your recall to ARB7 by turning on your OTA monitoring for Porsche. Otherwise, you stay limited to 80% until they have a fix. But I don't think there will ever be a "fix" because they have a situation where the battery cells need to be monitored in order to avoid a catastrophe or keep them under 80% of charge. The monitoring is the "fix".
Limited to 80%?
The letter says it's just a recommendation.

Yep, which is why it seems a bit odd. But it’s how mine has started behaving no matter what general profile etc is set to.
However, given their shite communications and patchy roll out of this recall anything is possible I guess.
I’ll drop the customer services a query, but they often go unanswered or give an answer to a different question than you’ve asked.

What EVSE are you using? Is it PMCC or PWC by any chance? Those would be the only ones which technically Porsche could OTA to limit specific VIN max SoC. AFAIK they can retrieve the current SoC from the car, and have OTA updates. Probability is low, but who knows, perhaps Porsche is learning and doing something new.

Wallbox.
However, I am on a smart tariff which is controlled via an app which integrates with Porsche server using ‘kazula’. So I guess Porsche may be sneaking it in under the radar via that. ?‍♂

My 22 4S was originally ARB7. Is now part of ARB6. Dealer says remote monitoring is active. Today I charged the car to 85% on AC with general profile set to 85%.
My car started with ARB7, still shows ARB7. I got a couple of automated txt messaged from my dealer that I have an outstanding recall work, so I called in, they said ARB7 and that they show my remote OTA monitoring is passing, but no work to do as remedy is not available. NHTSA also still shows ARB7, though just started showing ASA2 (airbag sensor), I wonder if the text messages were about ASA2 rather than ARB7, but it wasn't showing on the advisor's computer yet? Will call tomorrow to find out.

Or maybe they finally figured out how to OTA a Taycan? The battery monitoring OTA was the very first one I ever got (outside of app updates like weather, calendar).

Yep, though seems strange that some people seems to be reporting it and others don’t. Or maybe it’s not strange given their chaotic roll out and communication on the subject.

I wish there was better understanding of the cars at either the dealership or customer service level. But I always get the distinct impression they generally haven’t got a clue about what’s going on or why. Ho hum.

I suspect internal communications between siloed Porsche departments well as Porsche and its suppliers is just as chaotic. Traditional automakers were built on slow, iterative changes. The fast pace of technology changes (EV is just one part of it, advanced infotainment features, connected cars, etc - all of those are moving faster than companies like Porsche ever have - hence their total collapse in the Chinese markets, they haven't kept up with the latest tech offerings from other companies). Of course in this case it doesn't held that Taycan user interface is a total mess, so the end user can never quite tell why the charging ended, whether it was planned or in error.

Hmmm.
The kazula interface thing always worked the first day you plugged ie stopped at your target, but if you left it plugged in for a second day it would go to 100% whatever. Now it sticks at 80% whatever your target or however long you leave plugged in.
Something has changed somewhere!

This discussion around the latest ARB6, ARB7 developments is so useful and interesting to a relatively recent Taycan owner (Tesla refugee, Porsche enthusiast).

As mentioned on another thread mine went in for recalls including ARB6, WRS1 and WRW1 prior to me picking it up at the end of March. Privacy restrictions are off and I subscribed to Connect so I assumed remote monitoring would negate the need for the 60 day check, but the app alert came up at the weekend so its booked in for ARB6 and WRS1 again (no mention of WRW1).

It definitely charged to 100% under the direct control of Octopus last week, I will be fascinated to see if it will do that next time I need 100%. When it goes in I will be sure to ask them about the apparent lack of remote monitoring (which I thought was the point of WRW1), the 80% limit, OTA or not OTA and report back.

Hi.

My battery charging seems to have been limited to 80%. I know it’s advised etc but hadn’t been aware it was coded in or whatever. I can’t see anything in the charging

profiles or timers that might be causing it to stop at 80% at all costs.

My charging controlled via ovo charge anytime/inode profile.

Only noticed with reference to home charging and not on direct charging setting (which I haven’t tried)

Anyone else?
I’ve done a test this morning and no limit at 80%
WRS1 done in march with a recall to upload datas to Porsche May 13 th after 60 days for ARB6.
They told me all is fine and never had any limit for charging.
70% charging at 5,4 kwh and 30% fast charging with the option friendly charging selected in the PCM

Off-the-record.. 363 with 81% battery on a GTS! That's like 448km on a full 100%. Can I ask you how you even achieve this? What's your average consumption?

I typically only achieve 350km on a full charge (Taycan GTS 2023)

I just charged my Turbo CT yesterday to 100% before a longer trip - 222 miles after car finished charging about a half hour before departure, changed to 227 miles after the car preconditioned itself with a timer 30mn later (from shore power). It seems preconditioning added 5 miles to estimated range. It's summer now, so no freezing weather. I think the estimated range is decently accurate too. I don't remember seeing any higher estimated ranges in over 2 years of owning a Taycan.

The Sedan has the best consumption.
The Sport turismo has significantly worse consumption.
The Cross turismo is even worse.
And the one with the offroad pack is the worst.

There is a reason Porsche does not offer the small battery on any of the Wagon variants.
