For those who are inclined with doing their own service, the cabin air filter has a number of aftermarket options. The OEM filter is very expensive being an cabin filter. The VAG part is half the price of the Porsche part number.

971-819-429-B

The OEM part number is

9A7-819-429

Thanks for this. Can confirm that the Audi part 971-819-429-B fits the same.

The Porsche version on Suncoast costs $72.50+ship. I got the audi one elsewhere $38.09 shipped.

I got several cabin air filters from Pelican Parts, about $15 each.

I just replaced mine and the new part number is 976-819-429 that replaces 971-819-429 and 9A7-819-429. The strangest thing is that doesn't have the yellow color anymore.

I've tried the A-Premium one. they seemed paper-based and less waxy/coated than the OEM. I would often smell the exhaust of the cars on the freeway with the A-Premium, needing to express air circulate pretty much every drive, versus only need to use it one in twenty drives with the OEM.

Mmm, I thought the A premium was better than OEM because of the active carbon? I would like to get the best filter and willing to pay more... but it seems unclear which one is best 😞

Based on what I have read OEM does have activated carbon. Am I wrong?

FWIW the A Premium carbon in the filter seems fine on mine. My OEM filter was just a paper filter. I assume they have a couple manufacturers for these.

OEM or aftermarket it’ll not block all exhaust compounds. The smaller gasses like carbon monoxide and the smelly sulphur dioxide from Diesel exhaust don’t really want to interact with activated carbon.

I took my air quality meter with me on a drive just now and vs my Aprilaire 4 inch filters at home the Taycan has only slightly worse PM2.5 and PM10 in traffic. PM1.0 is the same.

The only time I notice any smells are when I’m near a diesel commercial truck. They’re allowed to mix and match very old engines in new chassis and vice versa. You never know if you’re dealing with a particularly clean large truck or not.

I just bought this one off Pelican parts - well 3 of them, to get over 99 for free shipping. But when replacing it, I found that the airflow arrow was pointing the opposite direction than the one I just pulled out. Cause of the notch on one corner, there's really only one way to put this thing in - so a little confused about the situation. Even just looking at the images on the site, the Porsche part has the airflow going down (when the notch is in the far left) and this one that says it's compatible has the airflow arrows going up. Hm...the other two compatible filters are also going up. Is this one just not compatible, or are the filters more symmetric and don't need to worry about the direction?
