In MD I've gotten one ticket ($70) in nearly seven years of no front plate. Cheaper than a mount. It's rare to see a Porsche here with a front plate. The dealer didn't even put one on the loaner Macan I had earlier this week.

The only real downside is driving around knowing the cops always have an excuse to pull you over. That makes some people anxious; others don't care at all.
No need to over complicate things..... I have a short plate on the front of mine, which is held on with 3M double sided tape. Been on 6 months and no sign at all of any movement. Apply tape on the edges shown, put plate on and Bobs your uncle. The car in the photo isn't mine, just an example

My MA plate stuck on the front my Taycan should be a criminal act. I’m going to do the same thing I do with my 911: keep the plate and mounting hardware in my frunk and claim I just had front end work done if I get stopped :CWL:
NICE!!!!!! I'll be doing the same :CWL:

No plate in front. Rarely take it into "city" where they enforce. If I do, never park on the street, only private parking.

The folks at AVI Boston do a "magnetic" front plate mount. No visible external attachments, strong magnets, not cheap (since you have to remove the front bumper to install the magnets, but if you're getting an integrated radar detector, that has to be done anyway). So you can pop the plate on for inspections and places where you might need it, and also have a "oh I was just washing the car and forgot" quick-fix, too.

I’m not putting one on mine, I’ll just pay the ticket if I ever get one and move on. American front tags wreak havoc on the appearance of this car IMO, European front tags are not nearly as obnoxious. Only prob with no front tag is it gives cops an excuse to pull you over.
I'm also in VA, & have Taycan CT on order. Have you had any issues with the lack of front plate since its been close to a year for you without one?

I am using the Rho plate that I installed on my 4S. It is sitting a little higher than I’d like due to sensor placement, but it worths the peace of mind in NY.

Did you have to take apart the Rho plate at all? I mounted it the way it was assembled and the sensor picked it up right away. Curious to know how you mounted it without the sensors detecting it.

I've been driving in Virginia with no front plate since September 2020 with no issues.
Good - that front plate rule is BS. Friend of mine lives in Ohio and never runs front plates on his cars (GT-R, 458, Porsche) and never has any issues with Johnny Law. Been living there over a 15 years.

Totally depends on lucky, or unlucky, you are. I’ve been in VA 28 years of driving and I was stopped twice in a 98 Camaro SS (2nd time gave up and mounted it), once in a 2013 GT 500 (mounted plate without drilling bumper) and once in a Cayenne S (started using tow hook adapter). I’m gonna take the risk of not putting a front plate on the Taycan but based on the comments on this thread I am obviously jinxed and that probably won’t last long ?

No plate and never had a ticket for it either. THey can write up me 100 times and I'll pay the fine 100 times. Not drilling my bumper.

I was stopped twice over the past 15 years of Porsche ownership without a front plate as an excuse. Once was late night by a state trooper that was pacing me and looking for a reason to check sobriety. I was sober. The next was while driving through a "questionable" neighborhood in Baltimore City, assuming I may have been a "dealer". Not me. Received warnings in both cases.

Amusing story regarding the sobriety stop is that I was coming from a Halloween party with my wife dressed as Batman and Robin. When the trooper asked for my license and registration, I simply replied "I am Batman". He was not amused. I thought it was damn funny.

I used the Sto N Sho front plate bracket.
Easy, no drilling. Just used the screws they supply and fits in stock screw holes under the front lip. Also has a quick release pin to take off.
Thanks - that does look better than options that mount the plate higher up. Question: does the plate down there block the lower cooling duct or interfere with sensors?

Thanks @CxM. Could you share some more photos? Interested to see side-on and, like @Genau asks, whether it’s blocking anything significant?

Can it be installed on either side?

Did you need to put the car on a lift for access to install?
