My success rate is in the 95%… I may run into an issue where I plug and it doesnt start up so I move to another open charger and it works. I utilize plug and charge.

Activate plug & charge:
PCM > Charging > < , , , > options activate plug & charge.
No need to use the app.

Also you must have "Porsche Charging Service" activated as service in your Porsche Connect subscription. Check this in PCM or in app.

I agree with the comments about leveraging plug and charge if you have it. Some of the EA stations near me have very limited cellular connectivity. If you are using the app, you may run into basic Internet issues that hold up the charging. So silly that they put the stations where internet is so sketchy and then rely on the app.

About 90% success. The few times I was charged, I called EA and was given a credit back.

Certainly open to an alternative method. The videos I watched indicated that you had to use the app to activate the charging position you plugged into.
I've been using EA about twice a month on my 2022 RWD for nearly two years and have only used the EA app once. Porsche's "Plug and Charge" did the rest.

It was extremely hit or miss when I first got my car but they've made a lot of improvements to the network. It probably works 9/10 times for me right now and if there's an issue, it's usually with a specific station. Moving to another charger at the site usually works fine.

I have had my car for 18+months and only tried charging outside of my house once. When I plugged it in at EA, it worked without issue. I can’t really see myself ever waiting for a charge. I prefer to charge my car like I charge my phone….while I sleep.

If "working" is defined as after driving out of my way for an EA station, then waiting for a functional charger/plug, followed by session initiation problems, and eventually charging to my desired SoC at a speed in the double-digits yet w/o having to pay any money, then the answer is 100%.

Thanks for the tip. Will give it a shot.

Appreciate everyone rolling in with comments - and it’s good to see the positive experiences. I created the thread after chatting with other owners I know, who have had experiences similar to mine.

Please let me know if this works for you. I’ve had 0% success with EA. The locations around me have always been out of service or they are “unable to connect to a server”.

I got to try this at the 350kW plug in Auburn, CA earlier. Worked perfectly, without a stitch of waiting or ”timeouts” forcing an unplug, re-plug and twiddling of the app.

Pic, because we all know it didn’t happen without one.

It must be that the EA stations around me have no cell connectivity. And is your car chalk?

I activated the “Plug and Charge” option in the PCM referred to above.

Car is Ice Gray.

100% for me and I have used it over 100 sessions. I find it easier to just activate the station through the Porsche App then plug it in. Plug & Charge does work but the handshake seems faster with using the App.

Tell the other owners to switch to plug-and-charge. All but oldest (2020?) Taycans have this capability (2020 requires an expensive charger upgrade to get it). I've had 100% success using PnC at any functional EA port, one time had to re-plug-in to get it to work (the first time something timed out IIRC).
