You can't open the charge port either if you can't unlock the car.

Why cant you use the cigarette lighter socket - I used it for 6 years with the Macan. Plug in close the door. forget.... Itknows that it has incoming and stays live as opposed to outgoing when it shuts down............................

Yes I used on Macan but won’t work on Taycan.

Mine went flat in 6 days (3rd recent occurrence). The OPC is adamant that there is nothing wrong and are blaming an over the air update.

This is my suspicion, mine went flat similar times twice, it's been OK since, but had been fine for a year.... Others were having the same reports all at the same time.

What OTA update? The car is supposed to notify you if there is one, and there have been no such notifications other than map updates...?

Only one since forever in my case. No bugs are being fixed OTA. (Latest model may be different.)

I use a CTEK 12V lead acid charger on all my little used cars to keep the battery in reasonable shape so I ordered the Lithium ion one to try on my Taycan, at least it will show where its at.

Ah well maybe that is the case then. Perhaps I just assumed because my Tesla updated all the time this was similar. Might have known! Tbh every time I've added or removed a feature ota it's totally broken the software resulting in service visits (4 times so far in a year 0% success rate). Bl00dy useless!

I got a similar one, on testing 12v only needed 20 mins charge time so seems the car has got over the weirdness.

Haha, if only. Even my oven has had half a dozen more OTA updates than my Taycan.

Not sure whether we have conclusive evidence of that yet - nor consensus on what the root cause is, and therefore whether it will recur. Mine is staying on the ctek for the moment just in case.

My Taycan has never asked if I want to apply an update. The only time I’ve been aware of one was one occasion when it locked me out of the display, unannounced, for over an hour while it sorted itself out.
