I reached out to Suncoast about this cable.

"Currently we removed them from the website due to them not being available at this time. There is no ETA. "

"23 weeks," according to Porsche's timeline. I had to play pretty hardball at that point, to get it down to a week, after a couple of interim promises.

I did buy an after-market charging unit on Amazon, in the end, before I was certain Porsche would come through with the part timely. It was about $1000. Can't recall the brand, but you'd recognize it. I decided to hang on to it, just in case. :)

Fired up my '22 charger for the first time, the wire size is smaller than the Chargepoint Flex Home charger that I have been using all along. The Porsche supplied charger wire to the car runs at 125F in a garage that's about 95F now in central Florida. The pigtail to the 14-50 outlet is running the same. This is warmer than the CP Flex charger. Is 120F too hot? Should this cable be replaced? My Audi etron cable runs @85F. I am wondering if we have to experience a charging error to get a replacement cable?

Got my Taycan last December. Perfect charging... until it got hot outside. My garage runs warm too. I'd noticed my charger cable getting warm. I hear the car's fan turn on after 30 minutes or so of charging. Going to check the battery temp at failure to see if the error might be the car batteries overheating and shutting down the charging.

Right now, I'm able to charge about 20% at a time before erroring out. Hey Stuttgart - some people live in warm environments!

Most likely the charging cable overheating and shutting down the charge. Do you get the red charge level like the pic on the first page of this thread?
Best to take it to the dealer for analysis. Let us know if you get a new charger setup.

So here are the results - I ran to the car when the charge errored out. The battery temp was 91 F, so it's not the batteries overheating. It's the charger. Off to the dealer I go.

On another note, this might be a common issue on EV's. We also have a Lincoln Aviator Hybrid (2021). We've gone through 3 chargers. We've been waiting now for 8 months to get a new charger cable. Apparently power cords are beyond the capability of auto makers.

This is now happening to me on every "deep" charge.
Last night I was down to 40%, woke up with 62% and a charging error.

There's a post on the FB group for this exact issue, and someone responded that the issue went away once the cable is completely uncoiled. It makes sense to me as it would reduce the heat build up on the cable by giving it more surface area to cool. Are your cables coiled when you encountered this issue? If so, maybe it's worth a shot to try the suggestion.

same here....plug in and charge 20%, charging error, unplug, charge 20% more, error, unplug, charge 20% more. This is a joke!

Uncoiling the cables is I good idea IMO - let that heat dissipate. I uncoiled and charged my new RWD in the garage last night for the first time, and fortunately it was trouble free even though the garage was 105 °F all night.

(I'm in the Phoenix AZ USA area. 114 °F yesterday, 110 °F today.)

Even though you're an Aggie, I gave you a thumbs up for confirming that uncoiling yielded a success charging session. Hook 'em Horns!

A fan might help take the heat away, too, if you happen to have one handy. Good luck!

Good suggestion! I do have one loop hanging on the wall. If we need to uncoil in the summer, that's ok by me. I'll try it.
