I was in Bullring Car Park today and upon entering the ticket machine entry point was so tight that I accident scuffed/ kerbed a very small part of my alloys. Then when I was leaving it happened again but this time it was worse. The entry point is so tight I think it’s impossible for any wide car to get through without keeping your alloys. See attached the damage. What do you think I should do I have had a couple of offers from other garages around the £80-£90 still waiting on Porsche quote any ideas how much it will be.

The bane of UK roads - potholes, tight parking spaces, not enough parking, not enough EV chargers, poorly designed car parks....

£80 -£90 is common for alloy refurbs.
Would be interested to see what Porsche quote.... as they too are likely to use a similar sub-contractor and then make a margin on top.

Scuffed alloys are part of every car ownership... do not lose sleep... spend a bit of money, get them repaired and enjoy the car...

Scuffed one of my rims. Then the second and then the third. I actually pay attention to how I park but after 8k km, it's inevitable if one does shorts errands around a town and parks 4,5,10 times a day not mentioning narrow roadways etc.

I haven't found a service here in South Portugal that will do these small rim repairs and when I went to my tyre guy he plain told me "Don't be a sissy. Come back when they're all chewed up and I'll send them to a company in the north that will refurbish them top bottom. Not worth the trouble for a few scrapes and battle scars. At least your driving it, man"

I decided to follow his advice.

Don't sweat it. It happens.

Just get it repaired and move on - till it happens again.

As mentioned, your dealer will likely just get someone in to do it (and add their own charge).

First one I kerbed, I got repaired by a mobile guy.
Second time wasn't as bad. Fixed it myself.

That’s minor damage compared to mine. My wife was on the right lane passing a SUV on the left when it suddenly jumped into her lane causing her to swerve to the right and scraped the curb pretty badly. We have wheels insurance and it’s at the dealer now getting repaired. They had some wheels repair shop come by to pick it up. Hopefully it will turn out well.

Don’t sweat it. Google “rim repair near me.” That’s what I did after my wife came a little close with the back wheel and grazed a curb. C$175 for rush service, $125 for 2 week turn around. I was about to put in the winter’s on, so I didn’t rush it.

Fast forward to late winter early spring. I was enjoying a nice s bend sweeper downtown and was pushing hard. I drifted about a foot… and maybe a millimetre too much! I forgot I still had winter’s on and ended up touched the curb every so lightly I put a 1 inch mark on it. It was so minor, but the cost was so cheap to refinish it. I had it redone anyways, why not?!

Black High gloss is an easy repair. There will be numerous specialists around Brum or ask your OPC who they use. Porsche Reading where happy to tell me who they use but I have a fantastic alloy repair shop very near me and they charge £96 Inc vat for a full strip, powder coat, diamond cut and lacquer.
