@C17r15 That's awesome. You could answer what many people have tried to find in several forums.

Two quick questions please:

1. What can I use to do the coding?
2. Do you have code for how to have the spoiler up all the time in the Range mode fex? Or any other better idea how to control the spoiler?

Thanks in advance.

1) The driver seat moves back when opening the door (to allow easy exit). However, the distance it moves back is quite small. Any coding values to increase this distance, so that entry/ exit becomes easier. In BMW’s this can be coded to a value (only up to a certain max to prevent rear passenger injury). The default value on the Taycan is too small.

2) Vibration on steering wheel (drifting into another lane, etc…) - can the motor frequency/ oscillation be modified to make it feel more stronger?

3) Turn indicator flashes - can these be coded to more than 3, like 5?

4) Default startup mode. Car always switches on in Normal mode - can this be set to last known mode (i.e. when turned off) or hard-coded to Range/Sport/ Sport+.

5) Can Sport+ mode be coded so as not to set Climate A/C mode to Eco+ and keep A/C mode as is?

6) Brightness of front DRL - increased or decreased?
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

#1: I’ve looked into comfort entry settings but was not able to find any fields. Not saying not possible, just haven’t found any settings yet given developer mode is all in German, with multiple hundreds of coding values across ~50 control units

#2: I have not explored

#3: in developer mode, under BCM2 > manual coding without rules > motorway flasher light control > input #. I read that this is limited to odd numbers but have not confirmed (I have it set to 5)

#4: in developer mode, under BKE > manual coding without rules:
  • kodierwert:kodierwert default fahrzustand > fahrzustand = “last mode”
  • kodierwert:kodierwert default fahrzustand last mode > fahrzustand last mode = “ja”

#5: I do not believe drive modes are configurable beyond Range mode’s max speed and Individual mode. Individual mode should accomplish what you’re looking for?

#6: I have not explored

Hi,

I finally managed to get a copy of PIWIS 41.5 and a VAS6154 clone and managed to connect to the car. Was able to code a few values as well both in BCM1 and BCM2.
Many thanks for your guidance. ?

--------------------------------------------
However, I was unable to find the BKE module. There appears to be no such module of that name reported by PIWIS in my car. Mine is a 4S of May 2023 manufacture.

1) Could you please double check that you have the BKE module in your Taycan? And were you able to code the Default StartUp modes?

2) Am I using an older version of PIWIS? What version of PIWIS do you have? Could it be because of a cloned VAS?

3) Any other module where these 'Default StartUp modes' settings could be?

I have now started to look into various other modules and exploring....

Glad to see this seems to be solved. Couple of questions:

1) Will a dealer be able to do this for me? Any idea how much they would charge?
2) If not, what do I need to purchase and where?
3) Anyone in the Chicago area able to do this?

1) Technically yes, as they have the tools. A dealer may not however be willing to do this. Find an independent Porsche workshop or someone who has access to PIWIS tools.

2) You need a copy of PIWIS 3 and a VAS OBD2 adaptor. Legal copies of PIWIS and the original VAS adaptor are a couple of thousand £ - however you should be able to find a torrent site/ download on the internet For PIWIS and buy a VAS 6154 clone from AliExpress/ similar sites. Clone VAS should be sub $50.
However, you will need some expertise in operating PIWIS software, it is not the most intituitive.

3) No idea, I am from across the pond….

Thanks to this thread we now have the 4 Kodierwert settings now set and saved at ACTIVE and have confirmed the other two were already set as expected. However, we dont see that the rear strip light is now on when the car is outside in the daylight. Seems we dont have DRL on this car at all? (US Spec 2022 CT4). Owner's manual does not seem to shed any light on the DRL situation. Are we missing something?

hi folks,

can I get some help on troubleshooting rear DLR coding.

I enabled rear DLR as per:
Porsche Taycan How to keep Rear LED strip always ON? 1773313649436-ss

However, there is a small side effect: my DRLs now only come on when I shift into Drive (front and rear). If the car is powered on, the lights stay off unless it’s night-time.

I’m guessing one of these parameters is controlling that. I’ll try changing them one by one this weekend, but if anyone knows how to restore the original behaviour of the front DRLs, I’d really appreciate it.

ChatGPT tells me to set drl_at_stl to inactive.

I have notice the same issue. The DRLs now do not come on at stand-still. 😔

Please update if the drl_at_sl to inactive works.

I set "drl_at_sl to inactive " but it did not resolve the issue and Rear light still comes on.
I am going to start reverting each thing 1 by 1 until I make it work or revert back to stock.
Await your final feedback; as I want rear lights with DRL; and also want these to be ON when standstill (and not just when in Drive).

Set everything back to inactive except SL_at_DRL , will wait for day light to test.

anyone know what these two do? I wonder if it’s related to the start up animation j1.2 has.

I had tried the bitfield_animation setting to active about 3 years back, when I first got my Taycan - it did nothing, no effect.

Pleas let me know how the 'Set everything back to inactive except SL_at_DRL , will wait for day light to test' goes....

Have you been able to disable the ‘Creating Documentation Updates’ as it takes forever to do in my PIWIS and more often than not failed at some modules, and even selecting ‘Disable the xxx unit’ does not seem to do much…
The progress bar just seems to hang. And I have to restart the whole process and hope the next time it goes through….

I had this problem a lot when I did the coding first time. The recents attempts have worked first time.

Not doing anything different but when modules load, I select it and then hit coding rather than next . Then I follow the normal steps. Hit back once it tells me about connecting online.
