Max daily air temperatures in parts of Texas last month were over 95 F/35 C and in some areas over 100 F/38 C for a couple weeks. How does Taycan handle those conditions?
For example:
At outside temperatures over 95 F/35 C, what is the typical battery temperature? Does the battery temperature get reduced below ambient by cooling system?
Are cabin temperatures comfortable with glass roof?
Insulated glass needed?
Any other adverse behavior in hot climates?
Max temps here have been about 85 F/29 C. I haven't noticed any problems.
I have the insulated glass and tints. With this combo, I never have to take it out of ECO A/C because the normal AC is too cold. The side benefit is excellent range. I get 240+ miles @85% charge on a 4S CT with 21” wheels.

South Florida here, brutal Summer so far…the Taycan has been great. AC is ice cold, I had aftermarket tint that definitely helps, and the glass roof is fine, no issues with that either. Battery temp from what I notice time to time is high 80s to low 90s. Range hasn’t wavered, still over 200 miles around town on a 90% plus charge.
Ditto. +2 on window tint - especially the windshield. Autobahn i3 ceramic film all around all my vehicles and it helps a TON in S. Florida sun.

unmentioned in any of the replies is that my range and energy efficiency are better during the hot summer months than they are in the cooler winter month.
For ref., I've posted my analogous information in this chart in multiple threads over the last year plus and continuously updated here:

- one more for the road I guess :)

In regards HV battery temps - here is a pic of mine hitting 92F in a 110F day driving around Houston last month - can't recall ever seeing it higher but yes max. temp managed by the PCM:

Thanks for sharing your visualization of your efficiency data! I don’t have the skill to plot mine but I’m sure the pattern of my 2020 Turbo is very similar. During this very hot month of July, my morning estimated range has been between 238 and 244 miles on an 80% overnight charge. That implies a range of between 297 and 305 miles on a 100% charge during the hot summer weather. In a cooler month like January my morning estimated range would be between 218 and 224 miles on an 80% overnight charge. That implies a range on a 100% charge of between 272 and 280miles.

If my Turbo is a bit more efficient than your 4S, I’d guess the majority of the difference can be explained by the difference in wheels. I’ve got 20” Turbo Aero wheels and I’m pretty sure they are more efficient than the 21” wheels you have. I doubt differences in humidity might have anything to do with it but Scottsdale AZ has far, far lower humidity levels than Houston TX (I lived in Dallas for 30 years and traveled to Houston quite a bit so I know all about summer humidity in the Great State of Texas). Thanks again for sharing your data. I think you and I both agree that the Taycan handles hot climates very well right?

I have been sitting in the car, waiting for my son for an hour and a half. AC has been running, battery temp is still holding below ambient.

230 miles of range at 73%???

I get 230 at 85% on my GTS. DFW, so we're in roughly the same climate.
I'm a pretty aggressive driver though, I live for jackrabbit starts...

That is really impressive for the CT 4S.

You and I I think ‘birds of a feather’ as almost identical range predictions and driving style! :)

Oh I drive fast when I can. In any vehicle I quick accelerate from stop signs/stop lights if possible. Most of my driving is around the Austin suburbs, so 45mph speed limits, which does wonders for range. When out on 183A, going 85 range drops pretty quick.
