I think I screwed up

Hey all. So the electronics on the Taycan was really wonky this weekend. Every profile was in “private” mode, even though they weren’t. Couldn’t access the car remotely in any capacity. Read some online troubleshooting (logging in as guest, removing private turning car off and leaving it for 10 minutes - switching between profiles - trying to access through my Porsche account online etc…). Nothing worked, which is when I probably screwed up…

I read online if all else fails do a “factory reset” which is what I did. Well, it fixed the privacy problem but created a pile of new ones…

1. Spotify is gone. I mean gone. No option to even pick it as a source to generate the QR code. It is no longer apart of the PCM.

2. I had one service warning for to update my tire sealer but now I have three.

3. Rear windows showing as open when they are not open.

I planned to call Porsche today but thought someone here might now of a fix. Thanks.

(PS factory reset wipes out all settings so even when you log back in with your account, it is as though you’ve never been in that car before. It took me hours to set the car up with our three account again. A real PITA)

Porsche connect has been down for me for several weeks now, so half your problems might be related to that.

Porsche Connect shows my Cayenne as being in Private mode constantly, it isn't. It has done it a few times with my Taycan as well. If your settings are not set to Private within the vehicle, that is an issue with Porsche Connect, best to just not worry about it as it is hit or miss when it works properly.

My car was in guest/private mode this weekend….it was weird. I did nothing and it fixed itself after a couple of driving trips.

Yeah, my Taycan has done this a few times and usually best just to leave it alone and it will sort it self out.

I have also had issue where I had to log in as guest and then back in as myself.

After a recent service update I couldn't see spotify or Apple music for a couple of days. Then they just appeared back!

Have you reported it?

I sent an email, called and logged an "instabug" (you do that by shaking your phone when in the app).

A day later it was all working again - nobody admitted it was them that fixed it, so it may have been coincidence....

I went through something similar early on when they replaced my internal alarm for my 22RWD. In short, I wouldn't stress too much as I'm confident this is a fixable issue.

That one is very common if the server and car aren’t communicating. There is a bug in the app: it shows random status of car locking until it can connect to the car, then it replaces it with correct status. I suggest reporting this as a bug: they should fix the app so “unknown“ status is greyed out, not random; that would save us leaping off the sofa and racing outside in the rain to find that our windows are actually shut!

Porsche software is crap. If you want it work just get a tesla lol. Otherwise enjoy the car without connected services ?

I picked up my CPO two weeks ago and so far:
- windows show opened in the app
- keep lane assist stuck in activating step
- navigation can’t connect to their services so the planner is missing
- online updates are not available (car shows it’s in private mode)

I tried to solve this issue with both the dealer and online support but no luck so far.

Sorry, I was a way for a while. Yes, I tried that but it I didn’t work. Have an appointment at Porsche on the 11th
