I didn't see a thread for this yet but I'm sure someone will point it out if it exists.

Since Porsche is offering up to $600 reimbursement for EVSEs while we wait for the Porsche provided ones to be fixed, what have you chosen to purchase as a result of this recall campaign and why?

I went with the Grizzl-E Mini. Here's why...
  • portable (I already have a wall charger)
  • up to 40A charging (many portable EVSE top out at 32A)
  • NEMA 4X rated which is similar to IP66 I believe
  • Lots of safety features (over current, over voltage, under voltage, missing diode, ground fault, and over temperature protections. Self-Monitoring and recovery, power outage recovery. Built-in GFCI.)
  • 24' cable is pretty long and should get my car connected almost anywhere
  • 5 different connectors for flexibility (NEMA 14-50, NEMA 5-15P, NEMA TT-30P, NEMA 14-30P, NEMA 6-50P)
  • Made in Canada (happy to support our friends to the north)
I couldn't find anything that stated what the wire gauges are so hopefully I can determine that when it arrives tomorrow. The unit has arrived and the cords are 10AWG. The wall outlet plug and the J1772 plug both stay nice and cool at 40A but the cord does get warm.

ChargePoint Home Flex Level 2 Wi-Fi Enabled EVSE.
* Full 40 amp support and 23 foot cable
* Well-regarded brand / well reviewed / 3 year warranty
* NEMA 14-50 plug versus needing an electrician to hard-wire
* Fits exactly under the $600 reimbursement cap with tax :)

Oooh, nice find, thanks!

Before I was looking into a plug-in charger with an extra-(extra-)long cord, and before I thought about trying to get reimbursement for a Tesla Universal Wall Charger, I looked for a mobile charger that came bundled with OEM adapters (beyond just the usual 14-50 and 5-15) ...
... but the only model I could find was merely 16a.
If my Tesla reimbursement request gets rejected (given that it's hard-wire only, and the letter is confusing on whether that qualified), then I'll definitely get this model, thanks!
(Although sure isn't available from many places. Which is probably why my previous searching for such a bundle didn't find anything.)

I found it in stock at Amazon.

I got the Tesla universal wall connector. If it’s flaky, specifically the CCS adapter, I will return and get a ChargePoint flex 48.

I haven't decided yet. Anyone look seriously at the J+ Booster?

https://jplusbooster.com/
I had looked into it, and the availability of integrated adapters seems nice (i.e., as with many OEM EVSE via the parts catalog, and as opposed to getting random adapters for a 14-50P from Amazon), but I didn't see anything else compelling about.
I was impressed at first that they rented a decommissioned Leopard 1 tank for the video, but some research reveals that's readily available:
... and of course all the tank tread is doing is shmushing the EVSE into the soft ground, plus since the ground pressure isn't all that impressive:
... driving over it on pavement with a Taycan would probably be more damaging.

I am going in for another recall and the dealer requested I bring my old cables in. Does the rebate have to be for a charger purchased after the recall? Or can I claim the one I already have (I bought a Tesla wall connector since day 1 given the warnings here!)

Since I refuse to give Elon a penny, I went with the ChargePoint Home Flex hardwire version. After reading everything @daveo4EV wrote in one of the more detailed threads, that was the best bang for the buck and max charging capability in my case (my CT4S has 19.4kW option)
