Anybody got a view on what mileage to expect on 21 inch Tyres as was thinking of buying a set just in case I struggle to get some due to everything that's going on in the world

Pirelli P-Zero Elect 21":
Front 20.000km.
Rear 17.000km.
Just been to have a repair done at Kwik-Fit (I know, lease company mandates the use of same). At 7,000 miles on P-Zero 21’s I’ve got 6mm left on the front and 5mm on the rear.

What tread depth do they have new?
I am on similar miles, so will see how my 20' Michelin PS4 are doing.

I almost did the same, but was advised against storing tyres due to natural degradation (they can go hard and brittle apparently).

That’s a good question! I seem to recall 8-9mm being quoted but I don’t have a reference for that, apologies. I haven’t been holding off driving the car with brio, shall we say.

They come with 7mm. I measured when I got the car. Mine are Michelin. Same as the Michelins on my last car (Macan). I think a lot of tyres do come with 8mm and I thought with my Macan that I was going through them very quickly which is why I now measure the depth on new tyres so I know where I am starting from. I suspect all of the new tyres on these cars come with 7mm. They will probably justify it based on handling or some such reason, but when Porsche recommend a minimum of 3mm that gives you only 4mm of useable tread (rather than the usual 6mm if you start with 8 and go down to2). A nice extra profit margin for the tyre manufacturers

With the amount of Miles/Kms that everyone is getting, it would indicate that a full set of tires won’t even last 2 years. Is that correct? If so, sounds strange….

Doesn’t sound too strange to me. It is a big heavy powerful car which we all enjoy driving enthusiastically sometimes. I would have though 15,000 miles is quite good.

I doubt that most are driving hard enough that would warrant tire replacement on what could be an annual basis. Forums tend to be places where posts reflect an inner race car driver but like other Porsches on the road today, most are driving sensibly 80%+ of the time. If this level of tire wear becomes commonplace, I am certain the tire manufacturers will find a better solution.
