hi all,

ok so i'm still relatively new to my Taycan (3-4 weeks now i think), but reading around i'm seeing people mentioning they get 3-4 miles/kwh out of their taycan.
I'm totally baffled by this, best I can seem to achieve is about 2. goes up to about 2.2 if i put it in range mode.

This was measured during a 40 mile drive home the other day (and longer term isn't any different).
I get that there are a bunch of other factors, but I've got Aircon set to Eco. I'm not driving like a lunatic. Temp is set to 22degrees all of the time, heated seats and steering wheel are off.

Overall range on the car is about 180miles on a 90% charge according to the car (never had the opportunity to really test that for accuracy, but its supposed to "learn your driving and estimate better" after a while, without a way of "resetting" it apparently.)

Just me in the car, no luggage/extra weight.

(MY22 Turbo with 40k on the clock fwiw).

Any pointers or personal experience or your own range/miles per kwh?

Thanks

also I asked OPC to check my battery health the other day and he said it was good at about 86% (although he said it was plus/minus 10% accuracy which didn't really fill me with any confidence in the test)

My typical mi/kWh is around 2.5, and I believe this is the case for most folks. The 'Total' number is way off. Mine is 3.9.

Thanks, so whats your range based on that? My total before I reset it (ie previous owner) said like somewhere around 4 too. which, again, I was totally confused as to how that number was gotten to. (does it count being on but not moving as something which contributes to it??!)

Our 2023 Turbo will run 2.5-ish during the winter, and 3+ during the summer. I've seen as high as 3.5 while pushing for range on a road trip in the summer during interstate highway travel at 75 m.p.h.

Keep a close eye on tire pressure, as that's one variable you have control over.

Really depends on the model and year. I picked up my MY25 RWD ST last January and drove most of the miles during colder temperatures. Average consumption over 8,077 miles is 2.8. As temperatures are rising, my daily commute is now around 3.7. So I expect the average range will increase in the coming months.

Expecting a total range (100% SoC) about 358-375 miles

Nothing unusual what you are seeing on a Turbo.
86% SoH is also in line with the data what we see on the forum.
Dealer claim of plus or minus 10% is absolutely incorrect.
You can measure SoH yourself with 1% precision vs deep dealer test based on the data that we have using OBD/CarScanner.

I measure mine every 1k miles and at 17k miles my reading is 88.77% SoH.

Yeah, i need to get hold of a different obd2 adapter as the one i have doesn't seem to connect to the car when using carscanner.
OPC said that there is a way to get a better / more accurate SoH calculation but it involves running to 1% charge and keeping the car there for a couple of days in total. So naturally I didn't bother getting them to do that given that I live 40 miles away from them.

This is called a rebalance and again you can do it yourself. I do it every 5k miles and gain as much as 3% in reported health.

There is a TSB that describes this process. We can help you with that after you get the working OBD.

I was getting anywhere from 1.8-2.4 mi/kwh in the winter (32°F or less) and am getting 2.6-2.9 mi/kwh in the spring at 65°F.

2.4-3.1 mi/kwh here on a 4S depending on the length of the journey and how steady I take it. A long steady journey is around 3. Short journeys in the cold get about 1.7. But who buys a Porsche for economy?

I get low 2's around town in a lot of stop and go. The best I've seen recently is 2.9; the car shows 3.1 lifetime. I charge to 80% and show 214miles at that. 21 Taycan 4S/10k miles.

This.

In the city, I actually do worse... 1.9 miles/kwh. But I'm climbing hills...

Best I've done on a road trip was 3.5.

Range is typically guesstimated based on my daily low-speed driving at around 270 in normal mode - maybe 290 in range mode at a temp of 60-70 deg F. Actual range at those temps on a long trip at 70mph in range mode is around 230-240.

2023 GTS ST 2.7 in summer on a decent run. Yesterday 2.6 over 129 miles

My MY21 4S managed 3.

Both cars around 235 miles in summer @ 100% and 205 in winter.

Your battery SOH at 86% doesn't sound great - remember that's 86% of useable 83.7 leaves 72.9kwh.

Range mode won't add a lot either.

Higher range and lower consumption will be reported by folks where the ambient is high - Florida, California, LA etc.

My range estimate is 220 in winter 235 now and I hope a bit better in summer.
Typicallt 2.3 to 2.6 m/kWh but I have ad one at 3.0 and one at 3.3 this spring.
The total since new is displayed as 3.2 which is mathematically impossible so I ignore it (and am as a result, frankly, slightly sceptical of all the consumption data in the app)
