OEM factory option retrofits?

The simple answer is it's cheaper to order a new car than retrofit almost any option through a Porsche dealership. Even swapping the steering wheel or seat belts will cost several thousand dollars.

I find 900 Euros for ACC to InnoDrive interesting. It is not offered as FoD over here.

For others reading this in the future, retrofitting electric sport sound costs thousands of dollars, (mid thousands). On Porsche website, they make it sound easy and cheap, they price it at C$~800 but don't be fooled. It makes absolutely no point in retrofitting a sound box for thousands....

One of the outstanding unanswered queries re retrofits is in regard the onboard charger options i.e. 19.2 kW and 150kW/400V - I have the latter as part of my spec but declined the former - not particularly interested in it TBH (for my setup here in the US) but would be very curious if anyone can get any kind of answer on the 19.2 kW kit (as some may recall Porsche actually had a press release promising this in certain circumstances/certain regions but has not followed through as yet with options).

Ah, interesting - curious still re Porsche's announcement then re the 19.2 kW charger - maybe they reconsidered vs abandoning re issues (as many have reported here) and/or supply concerns as the cost to perform this retrofit would likely mean too few would actually avail of it.

ACC uses radar. If not optioned up front, it would be expensive to put in the hardware.
if you look at the front grill, the width will be continuous without ACC.
With ACC there is a round object on the left side (looking at grill)
Night Vision Assist adds another object (round also IIRC) on the other side of the front grill.

Interested to know if anyone has experience retrofitting ACC (ie radar) to a Taycan? Is the radar the only hardware needed in addition to change of bumber?

Folding needs coding, I don’t see that happen.

In general you don’t want your car to be taken apart to deeply. The assembly is designed as a one way street and taken things apart again always causes wear and tear on clips etc. replacing a heater is already bad enough, but opening up things multiple times is typically not what you want.

I am probably going for used Taycan and because of that I am checking what options can be retrofitted as if something is missing from the used one it could be added.

So please, list things that can or could be retrofitted. Let's exclude obvious like wheels and bodykit's.

I know most of them will be hugely expensive (some might be alright) but still lets make a list. If someone have also prices lets include those.

This is what I think you could probably add:

1. Reverse camera
2. Seats
3. Storage package
4. Seat belts
5. Steering wheel (maybe even heated)
6. Bose (or some aftermarket stereo)

thanks for posting and apologies for what might be a really daft question but as I just have the rear view camera and front/rear sensors on my Taycan, would you know if I get the kufatec surround camera dongle, will it do anything for me?

I can’t find anything on theirpage that answers it

This is somewhat off topic, since it's not (yet) a factory option, but it's possible to retrofit soft-close door mechanisms. I bought third party mechanisms, but perhaps it's also possible to retrofit the OEM mechanisms used in other Porsche and VAG models.

Hi all !
New to forum, I was just curious if anyone has had success fitting heated steering wheel. I have a used heated wheel (&Piwis) with module I am in the process of trying to fit.

Would be good to get mode wheel working also as I don't have Chrono. I realise the changes porsche made 2019 regarding retrofit of Chrono.
I am curious as taycan wheel does not have the button so it makes me think it's not as technical as one that has it.
Some suggest you need code for activation others suggest you only online activation that porsche won't allow.

I like a challenge especially when its " not possible "
