I did charged it to 100% on Wednesday, and today it says 75% and 150 miles. I drove 43 miles so realistically I would be at best 170 miles (city driving, heavy foot)

I get a reported 254 miles of range at 85% change (always home charged). This has not changed in over 4 years of ownership. Based on mileage remaining when I recharge, 240 miles at 85% seems realistic.
Yeah but OP doesn't reside in warm Florida.

Omg! Are yall driving in range mode? I have a base (I'm almost positive I have a performance battery), and at 85% I am getting 200 miles. If I turn the AC on, 190 max. ???

Colder ambient, dual motors and non base model in the discussion- obvious why you would see more range than folk in UK.

My indicated range at 80% is 227 miles. That's a 4S with 20" wheels with 10K miles on it.

Mine is also lower, I have a 4S on 21 inch wheels and I get 170 miles range shown at 85% charge and and last time I charged it to 100% it showed 190 miles range. My battery SoH is 91%. Maybe I need to rebalance my batteries.

I have recently purchased a 2021 4S 79kwh battery 20" turbo aero wheels. Only have it 5 weeks now in spring time in Ireland so temps ranging from 6-16 degrees approx. Have been charging it to 80% and getting a range quoted at 260km. Just did my first 100% charge and range is showing 320km. My consumption is averaging around 19.5kw/100km.

My calcs for that consumption should give me 364km range at 100% (71kwh usuable / 19.5kwh)x100

My question is - does it take some time for the range to adjust / reflect my style of driving. Are the numbers I am seeing normal under these conditions?

Looks to me to be in line what you should expect. Your battery has probably lost about 10% of its capacity since it is from 2021. If the battery originally had 71 kWh usable that is now likely be around 63 to 64 kWh.
’’Your consumption of 19.5kWh/100 km looks ok.

Range is about right - it will vary but not really that influenced by driving style - more to do with ambient temp, battery State of Health (SoH), weather (wet is not good).

161 miles on standard Performance Battery (PB) @ 80% is there or thereabouts and 205 miles on a full charge.

Suggest to nudge to 85% would be perfectly fine and 100% on day of use for a long journey won't hurt either. The biggest issue is regular DC (ultra-rapid) charging rather than home AC charging for the battery.

I managed to get 3.0 miles / kW from my 4S (PB+) from day zero to the day I sold it 2 years and 20,000 miles later. 3.2 (in your case) is entirely possible and if living in Florida / LA / SF etc then 3.4 would not be a surprise. In the winter things won't be so rosey.

Consumption figure on a decent run is a better measure of actual range than the PCM display after a charge.

Short journeys are a killer too for poor consumption

Go to your 'Trip data' in My Porsche and check out your average mi/kWh, then multiply this by your battery capacity (83.7 for me). If you really want to be accurate, multiply your total by your battery SOH. I'm tracking about 2.6 mi/kWh which gives me 207 miles range in 'normal mode' at 100% charge with a SOH of 95%.

This is a much more accurate method than using the range guesstimate that is provided. My typical range at 85% is shown at 220 mi. This number and your mi/kWh will vary significantly based on temperature. Figure a 10-20% difference between 30 deg and 70 deg.

The only journey I have done recently with over 3 m/kWh was 20 slow miles yesterday.
I went to Cardiff and back for the weekend got 3.0 at 49mph average going and 2.6 at 45 mph average coming back. Mine is all over the place!
Laughably the average claimed by the app is 3.2 since I bought it, which is ridiculously inaccurate since it would be mathematically impossible for the individual journeys to give that. around 2.5/2.6 would be believable.
On my 20" winter tyres and cold weather the estimated range has hovered around 225 miles, now after 2 long runs on 21" summer tyres in higher temperatures the guestimate is nearer 250.

I'm seeing the same problem with the total mi/kWh - mine shows 'Total' at 3.9mi/kWh, which is ridiculous. I do believe the monthly totals in the trip data report are relatively accurate. Mine are 2.2 for a very cold February and 2.7 for March. Not sure what's going on with the overall total - way off for sure.

Believe that Porsche have got a lot correct with their battery management though.

It is a fact that Rapid Charging is worse for the battery than level 2 charging. But it is not something that I am concerned with at all. I have over 70.000 km on my car and have done rapid DC charging in roughly 75% of the time. My use case is for long road trips since the Taycan is too large for our local roads and parking spaces.

I have my car now for just a month short of 5 years and my reported SoH is 90.5% at 70.000 km! Quite pleased with the overall SoH as well as the real range on road trips. Still shows around 370 km calculated at 100 %. I never fiddle with Range mode or Aircon settings but leave it in standard mode. No idea what the range would show if I switched off the aircon either. 21 inch wheels as well.

And if you look at this post
https://www.taycanforum.com/forum/t...gradation-data-by-taycan-owners.12815/page-62

you will see a user with a lot of miles and about 60% DC charging.

It is a pity that we have these battery recalls hanging over us, but I think Porsche has done a great job with the usability for road tripping in the Taycan.

2020 Turbo, I have a new 2024 battery in mine put in May of last year. I am usually between 220-250 miles at 85% charge. I've found that whenever I take it for a road trip or long drive, which i typically average 75-85mph, my estimated mileage goes down until the next charge. But I have ALWAYS gotten more miles on road trips than what the car indicates.
