Good to know. That 8/31 email just confused the hell out of me, even after I saw others get it earlier and "debunk" it. But how come Apple Maps EV doesn't work now? Is that same for everyone and I missed a thread?
I tried Apple Maps EV for the first time just now.
Works, although ... unless I'm missing something, doesn't allow me to see its selected charging stops?

BTW, as luck would have it, while I was sitting in my car playing around with the various features, this came on the radio:

major advantage of access to those ~12,000 Tesla V3 250kW Superchargers won't be of any use until the NACS-R<>CCS1-P adapters are available.
Where did you get information on this OTA having anything to do with Tesla access?

PS> Even if Taycans get access to superchargers:
  1. it will only be V3 and later superchargers, because prior build ones don't speak CCS powerline protocol (they use CAN bus communications). It is unclear whether Urban chargers (75KW) support CCS
  2. Tesla is 400V, so standard Taycan will max out at 50KW, while those who selected the 150KW DC option will max out at 150KW
So this access would not be to all 12,000 locations, only newer than 2020 IIRC and maybe not Urban chargers, and max 50KW or 150KW depending on a Taycan.

Hee hee, was wondering when someone would notice that!
(I should have added some sort of silly emoji...)

BTW though, should that happy day ever arrive (please pretty please):
  1. Yes, the ~12k count (for U.S. and Canada combined) is for the V3 Superchargers. (The balance -- ~8k? -- can be filtered out in PlugShare by selecting only 250kW which IIRC is exclusive to V3 with its dual communications protocol to support CCS1.)
  2. I optimistically included the 150kW option as one of my criteria.
  3. I doubt any Porsche Taycan OTA will be necessary, and instead the OTA will be on Tesla's end for its Superchargers. (My hope -- delusional fantasy? -- is that identifying EVs by marque will end up being somewhat complicated such that Elon will just open it up to all CCS1 EVs regardless of whether the manufacturer has agreed to adopt NACS in future model years.)

I wouldn't expect much in the way of anything from Apple for the next week or two. Marketing is busy announcing more expensive iPhones and devs are sleeping after pushing Sonoma out the door yesterday.
Yeah it’s just weird because it was working and then it stopped and now says my PCM doesn’t support it. But whatever, the native planner and ABRP are better right now anyway.

Please, I had to turn on do not disturb yesterday as the 3 “men” in my family were sending flurries of texts during the keynote. One of which was on campus, but I don’t care! I like my car better.

Is there anyway to force the OTA upgrade to happen?

in a 2022 RWD that has not received any PCM updates at all. an occasional map update message appears, but nothing else. dealsrr says the software is current, but I have older version number

Not to my knowledge. The major OTA updates are supposed to download while you using the car (or while it is in the garage), and they become available when you have windows up and push the Power button to turn the car off. Watch for a message on the PCM screen asking you if you want to install the update.

See Posts #63 and #85.

So did anyone get this update yet?
I followed all the steps in the emails and on this thread.

I am on "Software version: 3793"

and the "Updates" menu menu only ever says "Your system is up to date "

I just received an email survey from Porsche NA asking if the.most recent OTA update improved reliability etc. Has anyone received this update? I have not received anything.

I wonder if this survey request I received today for feedback about OTA updates is about the OTA update that followed the first email earlier this year, or the update I have not received following the August email about a coming OTA update. ;)

I’d fill it out for the last one you never got. They are looking for preferences. How about “only notify me once an update is actually available for my car, or if for some reason the update could not be deployed and action is needed from the owner (e.g. park it somewhere with LTE coverage, or take the car in to service for broken OTA)“.
