BCM2 autocoding may not be necessary- with the “vehicle data” using the euro spec, it may throw rear taillight defective errors against US taillights; it did for me. I redid the process and skipped BCM2, and no issue.
I couldn't find my notes (I have them, but I think in a backup somewhere), but I'm sure I never recoded the BCM2 for matrix headlights (I did that activation before I added euro tail-lights, at which point I had to recode BCM2). I also recoded my BCM1 back to the US in order to get the homelink back, and MIB3 back to US as well to eliminate a warning (which only showed up in logs, never on IC or PCM, but I still didn't like it) - matrix headlights still work (and have worked for me for 3 years now).

Turn on your hazards and check? The additional wiring is for hatch amber light which US lights don’t have. The picture above is what my US lights looked like after coding BCM2. Furthermore, your frunk exit button might also be blinking when your hazards are on (one of the missing wiring for EU tail light is wired to that button instead, on cars).

Ok. Wish me luck :) Will be coding my Matrix lights right now. I have one question regarding the attached notes - what it means revert the vehicle data to original value? What needs to be done? If I code everything back to original values as it was before I will lose the EU Matrix option, no?

You're basically changing back the vehicle data, but not actually using those option codes to auto code the ECU modules again. So, you're not losing anything. This is actually a VERY IMPORTANT step.

I'm in a bit of a conundrum at the moment. Like a few others, I've had full matrix functionality for quite a while now, but at some point while I was messing around with BCM2 I accidentally left B01 as the TYPE COUNTRY in vehicle data. Seems harmless...

Well, I had a service visit and they ended up syncing my vehicle data with PIWIS online. Now I don't have any Connect services available in the U.S because it thinks my car is German.

The reddit OP also switched to euro amber taillights and needed to code BCM2 and mentions maybe not needing to for US cars with US taillights.
It looks like you need to get RoW tail lights

Ah, I didn’t know you had euro tail lights! My point before was that anyone following the previously given instructions, which include recoding BCM2, who doesn’t have euro tail lights would end up with the short, red turn signals.

BCM2 does not need to be recoded for Matrix.

Has anyone figured out how to adjust the speed/velocity at which the matrix beams activate? I've tested enabling beam at standstill, but I'm not a fan of potentially high beaming at/into houses and people while parked.

I actually have Euro yellow turn lights available but I think some additional wiring besides coding needed for these to work. Anyone had these installed and coded successfully without adding additional wiring? Can this be done?

I also added rear light with letters that light up. Bought it from Erope. It works fine with one small issue when its still bright outside and I switch on left turn signal the letters will blink together with the turn signal...strange. This not happening with right turn and when its dark and headlights are ON in that case it works fine - no letters blinking. Strange. Feels like some coding is nedded?

Yup. BCM2/rear body control needs to know which model taillight you have.

I’ve asked a Porsche dealership if they can do this but couldn’t explain to the service advisor what this is called. Does anyone have an official name I can say?

From Porsche configurator on LED-Matrix Design Headlights incl. Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus (PDLS+):
Note: Full LED-Matrix functionality (individual operation of 84 LEDs) is limited for the US market. Individual LEDs are programmed to operate as a single light source to perform the functions listed above.
on HD Matrix: "individual operation of 32,000 LEDs"

The wording would be "Full LED-Matrix functionality" and may want to mention you'd like ECE (euro), as opposed to SAE (USA) headlight behavior. Good luck?
