Mine is a '23 GTS with regular Matrix (not HD). The change to PIWIS 4 (which requires a subscription) I believe applies to cars born sometime in 3Q 2023, but mine still uses PIWIS 3. The side markers are off after the activation because you are adopting the European light scheme that only uses sider markers when the directionals are on.

Amazing accomplishment. I used the coder and it was expensive as you say and a little scary as it takes many hours for install on your local PC and then applying all the changes. After seeing all this, there is no way I would attempt to do it myself and I am a programmer, as it appeared some of it was going back and forth even for the very experienced coder.

Yes, the spoiler was perked up and the side markers adopted European datasets (per coder).

The outcome is just off the charts great and I was able to share the OBD and full PC setup with a local fellow Taycan owner saving the coder time and he is really happy too with the outcome.

J1.1 Taycans only had LED and Matrix LED (84 modules).
J1.2 Headlight options are shown below but none of the fun stuff for the US.

I have only had one nighttime drive so far, and going on 40-50mph roads I found the matrix function was coming on and off a lot. Not sure if getting it to do the self-calibration will improve that or not. Does your blue light stay on when you are on non-highways or is it normal for it to switch to just low beams?

Mine switches on and off consistently on the same roads and locations. Blue light stays on when activated but for me, some areas are active. Speed wise, it’s on as slow as 20mph and on some residential streets. Doing that, it blinds any pedestrians on the sidewalk as I can see them fully lit up.
I don’t think there is any learning or adjustments that it’ll do.

Dealer just completed the driver assistance recall and lost my matrix functionality. Fortunately, no other ECUs were touched except for ZFAS. Would anyone happen to have an updated version of PIWIS that supports this ZFAS software version?

I've been texting with the innovative Soft people.

It turns out the cost of this is a bit more than the $884, if you have a 2025 or newer vehicle.

It's $1,620, plus an additional $410 to rent the PIWIS. So $2,030 (USD).

Is it still worth it?

"Worth it" is such a personal decision. I would say that upgrading the HD Matrix would be a lot more dramatic than upgrading the regular Matrix, but only you can put a dollar value on the improvement. I have the regular Matrix, and I do like the function of the euro full matrix, but personally I would not spend $2k for the difference.

You should ask how much to reactivate it when Porsche service kills it.
