It sounds like you have bad cell(s). I just went through this with my 2020 4 S. My dealer installed a re-manufactured 2023 battery in my car. I waited about 4 weeks for them to get a replacement battery. I brought my car in because I lost 60 miles of range in one week. Then the mani battery failed while they were troubleshooting the issue.

Same as yours. 2020 4S. Previous owner drove it some too so it’s done 57K miles. I’d be pleased to have a new (or even “new” battery). Hopefully find out more from them soon…

I have my own data-point because i just ended my vacation: '21 Turbo S. 28 days in garage. Dropped off at 49%, picked up at 43%. Used two remotely activated 60-minute cabin climate activation. I think that is pretty good comparing how my Rivian R1T 2022 was losing 2% a day just for sitting around.

As others mentioned, you might have a bad cell or two. My M22 car has been siting idle for over 2 weeks and I haven't lost a %. Hopefully your dealer can come through for you.

2% a day over all vehicles produced is a colossal waste of energy. Crazy, should not be allowed to go on sales.

Reading this post and I've been away from my baby(22RWD at 23K miles) for a week. I charged to 85% before I left and UNPLUGGED it. I've lost ZERO percent in a week which is typical from past experience.

Update: my 4S is now with Porsche having its battery rebuilt - one bad cell found. I'm very surprised a single bad cell can cause the car to throw away this much charge per day as it attempts to "rebalance the cells." But that's what they said... apparently it just got worse and worse the more the car tried to rebalance itself. Estimated turnaround 10 working days. (They'll also update the brake hoses and upgrade the PCM.) Let's see!

One month later. Still with Porsche. What have they done so far? A lot of diagnostics apparently and decided that the car may need an entire new battery. But possibly there's some insulation issue in the vehicle causing the battery drain. They still are not clear what's going on. The wait continues...

Hopefully you'll get a new battery. I had a similar situation (car draining while sitting, reduced range), and they replaced two cells, one faulty and the other out of an 'abundance of concern'. One year later, they replaced the entire battery. I'm very skeptical of their ability to correctly diagnose future cell failures in the 'old' batteries.

As they supply re-conditioned batteries when doing repairs/ replacements, surely they should whip yours out, put a 'new' one in, and fix your current one at their own leisure for further resupply.
Apologies for sounding naive.

5-10% loss of energy per day is the same as using 4000W-8000W for one hour.
Yep, must be the software.
