Taycan RWD Low range (battery performance plus)

Hey guys

I bought my taycan rwd in august with battery performance plus and in the beginning I got about 330-350km range at 100%, the seller told me these numbers should increase overtime but they havent. I have driven 6000km.

now in the winter I get 270km at 100%
and these numbers doesnt sit quite right with me, I know it will decrease at lower temperatures but the range calculator on porsches website says I should get way more.

How fast do you typically drive?

It does seem low, and there could be an issue you need to have the dealer look at.

Im starting to think so.

I have 21” spyder wheels and I typically drive normally within the city then I use the range mode on freeways avg 140km/h. Ofcourse AC is off.

That's pretty poor - 168 miles - not great when it was good either - 217 miles.

Either you don't have the Performance Battery Plus (PB+) but have the Performance Battery (check My Porsche and technical details - should be listed for your VIN) or something more fundamental - e.g. really low ambient temperatures or a software fault.

Get the dealer to check things over - may identify a software issue or indeed a fault with one or more of the battery cells.

Regardless of the reported range what are your consumption numbers to get a feel for actual range?

I got 280 km at 100% charge on my CT 4 with PB+ and 20 inch winter wheels. Did quite a lot of 130 kmh highway drives lately.

High speeds, low temps , rain and winter tires all have a negative effect on range.

last weekend I was in NL and maximum speed is 100 kmh during the day and the range increased to 330 km.

my highway range in summer is 350 Km maximum but tbh with the short charging stops it is ok for me as long as I can drive two hours or a bit more

350km range at 100%, sounds like the standard battery as in my taycan 21" w/aero wheels- current cold weather range - but it's not a commuter vehicle, stays in the garage if there's rain or snow, and I almost never use the heater/fan unless I have a passenger, or windshield fogged.

You might want to take a closer look at the dealer.

I have a "staggering" 315 Km range on regular batt rwd 100% ...then I turn off the AC and grows up to 330 /335 Km (4K totally driven ....with no caution on the range & speed & style)

....btw taycan S aero wheels.... (apparently if you have no aero it reduces all together approx 50km range !)

Your red paint most likely keeps the battery warmer too

280km sounds low, 330km sounds more reasonable however

This sounds too low, unless you have had cold weather and a lot of rain.

I noticed several times now that my Taycan has a 10 to 15% higher consumption when driving in Sweden (Malmoe upp to Goeteborg and Stockholm). The Road surface is much rougher compared to Denmark, Germany etc. Consumption higher and road noise very high with 21 inch wheels..

You need to look at your consumption kWh/100 km and also the distance you travel to get a good indication of potential problems.

Short trips in cold, rainy weather kills the range!

Sooo... if you're driving fast with headwinds or AC or heat on for most or all of your 270 mile route, I would recommend having an option of (high speed) charging on the way

Not really, I like heating / Air con. That's about 50 miles gone there.
