From the video, sounds like this is not intended to be sold direct to consumers. It's a business/enterprise product. Looks nice though.

this is how Ubiquiti markets a lot of their stuff. We can all buy anything from them. They’re kinda like the enterprise stuff for power users and enthusiasts company in networking. They have a lot of whacky early access products and they’re kinda known for throwing darts and seeing what sticks. Their portfolio used to be solely networking and now it’s a host of stuff.

Yes, I'm familiar with Ubiquity in office and home networking environments.

It's good to see a new EVSE from a reputable brand though I would not have bet on Ubiquity doing it!

The spec sheet PDF indicates that it's hardwired only. It'll be interesting to hear some reviews from prosumer types.

that’s odd because the installation manual shows connecting it to an L5-50R !

very interesting

adjustable AMPS from 20 to 70 AMP breaker - so can work hardwired or plug-based

nice screen
nice UI
integrated

unclear if they will support load sharing for mutiple units (like the $500 TEsla one's do via wifi)

but LOVE the hardwire choice vs. WiFi only…

nice unit!

too bad I jsut bought some Tesla stuff - otherwise I'd consider this for my PMCC replacement.

only 3 wires - no neutral required.

but all in all pretty nice choice to add to the list of alternatives

and really really illuminates in my opinion how bad the PMCC unit is given it's feature set and price point

Hmmm. I have to admit that for my use it doesn't look great. Which is too bad, since I love my Ubiquiti gear. No word on whether it supports load sharing (which would be important for me), and also only comes with a 16.4-ft cable, which is about 9 feet shorter than I'd want.

Dang Ubiquiti is really broadening their scope these days. Feels like only a short time ago that they stuck very close to the networking side of things.

That said, for presumably $1000+ (they usually discount the early access devices), I'd hope that this has something other than centralized (and not cloud based) monitoring for it to entice me to buy.

Nice !! Tell us more. How’s the experience so far? The app? I have a large unifi ecosystem at home and have a love/ hate relationship with it. They launch so many products only to let them die a slow death while letting the community hinge on hope of increased features and commitment to the product :)

worth it? Pros? Cons? Only thing I read in your post is about the camera!

It feels very barebones at the moment, the only thing it allows you to do with the camera at the moment is scan a QR code.
it would be nice if logging would be more verbose, it currently only shows a charging chart over the last 24h.
the Unifi Connect product portfolio and software as a whole is still one giant EA platform it seems.

It also supposed to have wifi hardware but it's not enabled, so currently i hacked around a powerline to ethernet link that works pretty well.

It does what i need it to do which is to restrict access and have only permitted people use it, i really hope they will extend the software to take advantage of the tech.
