This is driving me crazy but does anyone else with a ST or a CT notice the rear of the car gets dirty really really quick compared to the rest? I'm starting to think maybe the car needs some mudflaps!

Yes, but not very different than my Polestar.

And I will definitely not use ugly mudflaps on my ST.

It’s annoying, I think it has to do with the low ground clearance + aerodynamics of the car.

All cars do get dirty from the rear first but not as fast as Taycan estate, and not all cars are as worth keeping clean like this one!

Yea, the very rear gets the dirt first, but most of it gets dirty eventually, especially the lower parts. Below is my CT on a road trip (windows, mirrors, headlights and tail lights were cleaned by me almost every charge stop, so not the same dirt exposure as the rest of the car).

PS> See that rear door corner with factory PPF, this is one reason why I don't PPF my cars, eventually all edges look like this.

I don't think the mudflaps will help. It's the aerodynamics that cause the rear to get dirty. A low pressure area forms behind the car and sucks fine particulate onto the tailgate.

Mudflaps will prevent splashing, but that's about it.

..and yes, the rear gets very dirty.

Don't add flaps - cause drag and impair your range ;-)

Many cars have this aero 'feature' - looks cool if snow / ice but not so good if road grime.

This is every car I have ever owned. The bigger the surface area, the more the dirt accumulates.

This is primarily a function of aerodynamics. Annoys me too. It’s much easier to deal with on a car that is coated and regularly decontaminated. I have mine fairly well dialed in now.

Change it for a saloon/sedan?
Its the classic Porsche shape and not 'that' much less practical.
Seats fold for long loads, its not as if the CT/ST is exactly spacious in the back.
Still not enough room for 6'2" kids.
The saloon is so lovely and pretty and smooth and its so aero there
is never any dirt on my backside and you don't need
an ugly rear wiper as the aero keeps the rear window clean!
Just a thought?

I have a GTS ST. Whole car PPF and ceramic. I agree the rear gets really dirty - even when the front and sides look clean. Aerodynamics I guess.
