Just had a letter from Porsche regarding a software update for first quarter in 2025. Check of high-voltage battery cell modules and install of diagnostic software.
Is this a new recall?

Its part of ARA4/ARA5 and the other battery recalls.

Received mine this week, letter states Friday the 13th of December.
A Taycan did burn down already in my city 1 year ago (I bought one used after that).

Hope they work it out..

Yes, I’ve also had the notification. So the car has to go into workshop for evaluation and battery check. Then in again for the monitoring software Next year. So much for OTA updates.

So from 2020 until 2025 Porsche can only manage OTA updates the maps!!

I called my shop and they said that they just monitor my car via remote sessions. No need to come in unless they find something suspicious.

I don't think that's what the letter states.

It notes the car must be connected to the Internet for 45mins (not in privacy mode etc) at least once every 30 days... OR it must go in for 3 days to be assessed.

Its part of ARA4/ARA5 and the other battery recalls.
Aren't all 3 different?

Mine certainly didn't include the "don't charge to more than 80% and don't park it indoors" guidance that I think ARB5 gets...

Its same issue & same workshop campaigns, just under different recall numbers for different world regions and/or manufacturing years.

So if you have Porsche Connect, does the WRS0 update happen OTA? Or do you still have to go in to get it installed whenever its released in Q1 2025?

The car is remotely monitored by Porsche and then car needs to go to dealer for update.

My cars broken again at the dealers currently. Not expected back until Jan. Asked if this would be done as received the letter and they swerved the question on email. Will go again on getting an answer, but presume if the cars with them in jan it should be prioritised?

Upside, after 2 weeks with a BMW I5 which was nice but no taycan had this delivered so happy to wait for as long as it takes. Not sure if I’d spec it this way but do like it a lot!

Not a recall unless your car is offline and the software can't be patched remotely.

I'd view this as a new campaign and not related to others.

I got my letter yesterday and isn't applicable to all cars as I understand it.

Release date of the patch is ambiguous so don't get your hopes up!

Can't believe that.J1.2 cars are showing similar issues to J1.1.

What is "broken" on yours?
