Dealer today said no updates to report. PCNA emailed to say they've been in contact with the dealer and been told a week and a half ETA. No idea what to believe. If all PCNA is going to do is check on progress then what use is a customer support line? Swap it for an AI agent and update the service center software with an MCP so I can get the same non-response myself more quickly.
Side note, the signature matches the one from a while back where they denied my recall reimbursement claim for the home charger issue because I'd purchased just prior to the campaign starting. When pressed about if the issue only existed when the campaign started they ghosted me. So, guess I know what to expect with their CS folks. Don't know why I expected anything better this time 🫤
Whatever. PTX Birmingham next week. We'll see if my car materializes as well. Perhaps something to look forward to so I can get back to a positive mental space.

I’m really sorry man.

I know exactly how frustrating and discombobulating it is being stuck in this situation, driving a car you never wanted, while losing faith in the one you do.

I really hope they sort you out soon.

Porsche you HAVE to get better at servicing EVs.

That last bit times 100.
Thanks. I know your saga was rough as well. Just have to add that I've appreciated your posts on the forum here in general. Thanks for adding something to the community while I sit here grumpy!

I've always wondered whether stalling like this is by design, or truly lack of planning for much lower than expected reliability of designs leaving the company overwhelmed with issues to resolve. Or it could be just the culture, Porsche assuming most people buy Porsche's as a shiny status car to show off in the garage, so nobody really cares if it's not drivable for a few weeks or months.

Perhaps they'd start moving faster if a new law was passed - for every day in the shop that the car awaits a warranty repair, the warranty coverage must be extended by a week. Still not ideal, but at least would add some financial motivation for manufacturers to repair cars quickly. As it stands right now, it's in their best interest to take as long as possible while the warranty clock ticks down with zero usage.

Great point about warranty extension to compensate for the car being unusable due to a warranty repair. Even if it was 1:1 given the cover is effectively suspended. Cant see it happening sadly.

Interesting idea. On the surface I like it. Would be nice if they also extended any of the paid or perk offerings. EA charging, the Porsche subscription, etc.

Oh I hella care. If I had payments I’d care even more; I’d be absolutely furious writing those checks to drive a loaner Macan month after month.

If this is indeed part of their calculus it needs to be revisited.

My Porsches are not, and have never been, weekend toys for me. Always daily drivers.

The other benefits would be nice, as would be Porsche to pause any payments and interest on the car loan/lease, or compensate for car depreciation while it's undrivable. but all that gets complicated real quick as you dive into details. I'd start with warranty extension as a simpler motivator to implement.

You and me both, but not sure about the majority of Porsche owners. Remember this Carrera GT recall:

A like for like (or better) courtesy car is the bar Porsche should aim for.

Driving round in a base Macan (if I was lucky and planned my faults 3 months ahead!) during the countless issues I had with my car, just added to the whole bad Taycan ownership experience.

It also makes sense. Put you into something nice and you may well aspire to trade up once you get your car back as it will feel inferior.

Put you in a base Macan and it just sours you to the brand.

I sold my Taycan due to the whole Uk dealer 'experience'.

"Same or better" loaner becomes prohibitively expensive when dealing with, well, expensive cars. Someone with Taycan Turbo GT comes, there must be a quarter million dollar loaner waiting for them, but if someone with a base ICE Macan needs a loaner, only base loaner is needed. 911 GT3 RS, Carrera GT, each dealer would have to keep a ton of cars on hand. Who eats the storage costs, insurance and of course depreciation on those?

Elon wanted to try this concept with Tesla, in the days when Tesla only had a one model. His aspirational goal was that everyone who comes in for service gets a top end, fully loaded Model S performance, and if they like it better than the car they dropped off for service, they click a button in the Tesla app to trade up, apply for financing or wire in cash the price difference - no need to even come back to the shop unless you left personal belongings in the old car. That never worked, not even for a short amount of time, he simply didn't do the math of what this would cost, and they only had one model in their lineup!

The closest thing to what you want that I've seen were extended test drives of new cars, masquerading as service loaners, but really only for customers the dealer was familiar with, who the dealer thought might buy that car - so really the same criteria as asking the dealer to lend you test drive a car for a weekend.

Quick question for anyone who has had the red circle of death. When did it come on? Was it when you got in and the car started? Does it ever come on while driving?
My reason to ask is that I now have the yellow electrical system warning. Might it die on me while driving or will it probably get to my destination if it starts?
Booked in with Porsche next Friday

Never had a yellow. Red came on after leaving the car parked for maybe 10 minutes. Left the car at public parking, was gone when I came back 2-3hrs later. Porsche service found the faults in history, but after clearing never the errors did not come back, so nothing actionable per Porsche's official procedure.

Straight to red on start up for me each time. The first time I had it towed in. That took 2.5hrs, and by the time the tow truck arrived the error was gone. Dealer didn't see any issues. A week or so later it came back. A Left it for 35 minutes and it cleared itself and I drove home. It started to become more frequent, and after a few weeks it finally appeared and didn't clear for two days straight. Towed it to the dealer and that started the first module swaps. Similar story the second time, but shorter overall timeframe. Error appeared, cleared 15min later. Dealer cleared the history or something like that. A week later it came back. Then disappeared. At that point I had the next service on the books. Had it a time or two in-between while waiting to take it in. They found issues with balancing that necessitated the additional two modules to be changed.
Long story short, never saw a yellow warning. It went straight to red. And it was always at start up. I'm guessing it does some sort of balancing / diagnostics while stored for some amount of time and that might trigger seeing it. No idea why it was clearing after that on/off/on cycling though.
