Finally got my CT about 3 weeks ago. Finalized my charger setup. 240v/50amp, getting a steady 8.8kw.
Little bit of Amazon, little bit of eBay and it’s all done.

Note that the PMCC manual says the charger should be at least 50cms above then ground to prevent "risk of explosion". Don't know why that risk exists and if they are talking about the risk to the charger or the car battery. Perhaps something to do with electro magnetic interference? But just check your setup and move up the charger if you want to go with what the manual says. I have a very similar setup and I moved up the charger a few inches to get the 50cm.

Interesting. ? I had no idea. I just checked and I’m at 40cm. I’m just gonna leave it.

WattZilla Wall Wattz 75 Amp EVSE hard wired to a 100 amp breaker. I get around 17.4 kwhr charge rate with the 19.2 kw on-board charger. It’s mounted through the pegboard to a concrete block wall using tapcons.

I suspect this is because the PMCC is likely to be located in a garage where flammable liquids are stored. Vapor from flammable liquids is heavier than air and concentrates near the floor. If relays in the PMCC are not hermetically sealed, a spark from contact closure could ignite the vapor/air mixture. For the same reason, appliances with an ignition source, such as natural gas water heaters with a pilot light, must be mounted at least 18 inches above the floor per various building codes.

14-50 plug wired to 50amp breaker at panel. 9.6kw draw charges at 8.8kw at the car. Many thanks to advice from Daveo4EV and others...really filled in the knowledge for my setup.

Here is my 48AMP (11KW) charger that was installed this week. My car isn’t coming for several more months but this is exciting!

That view of the driver screen is amazing! Makes the whole case not to add HUD

Hi all. I get my 4S ST mid April and have a question regarding installing a home charger.
I’ll park the car both inside and outside of my garage so I’m thinking install the charger inside the garage. What I’d like (I think) is an untethered charger and a short cable to charge inside, then another separate cable installed to a socket outside on the garage wall to enable easy outside charging rather than have to keep opening the garage door. However, I can’t find such a thing as an external extension/wall socket on any uk website and it must be 7kw.
Any ideas? Thanks

Can you just install your charger just inside the garage door, that way the 25ft cord can reach both inside the garage and outside the garage as well under the door?

Thanks yes that’s the easiest install but was looking for an alternative to opening the door each time.

Just got this mounted. NOT HAPPY with the final result. THERE'S A HUGE gap between the charger control head and the door

Is it because I have the NOT FANCY charger cord without the fancy smancy digital screen? is that one larger than this so it fits flush?

Why do I have this cheaper looking cord- it's what came with the taycan. Only thing I saw that sounded like the fancy smancy digital screen cord is the Charger+ for $1200

Maybe I'll tell the wife this design allows the unit to cool so it won't overheat like done people's units...

Mine's got a 1.5-2" gap all the way around the hole

Yes, you’ve installed the standard Porsche Mobile Charger + (PMC+) inside a cabinet designed for the upgraded Porsche Mobile Charger Connect (PMCC), which has the fancy touchscreen. The PMCC is larger and would fit flush inside your cabinet (which is version 3). You’ve got 3 options:

1. Leave as is
2. Replace cabinet (you need version 2 w/ smaller aperture)
3. Upgrade to the larger touchscreen version

Refer to Suncoast for the different options:
