From what I read for 2020-2021 owners, they all have bashed the Adaptive Cruise Control including Active Lane Keeping add-on.
I currently drive a Tesla Model 3 Long Range and the adaptive cruise control with lane keep just works so perfect, I literally cannot drive a new car without it now.
Im sure, Porsche wont be close to Tesla Autopilot 100%, but atleast it should be great, right ?
Like, can it stop start - chase - auto speed auto slow - lane keep - steer automatically into curves lanes, without our efforts on steering ?

Or how is it ?
Has it improved for 2022 owners ?
If no, then I will delete this option from my order and will simply use the regular cruise control :(

Not sure where you read that ACC was bad, it actually quite serviceable. In fact, in some ways it is better than Autopilot right now because there's no phantom braking (2021 Taycan). There's a couple quirks/deficiencies:

- If you stay stopped for 15 seconds, for some inexplicable reason ACC will not go when the light turns green/traffic clears up. You need to be aware of this and give the pedal a slight nudge so tit resumes operation.
- ACC responds fairly late to people merging into your lane in front of you, which is especially troublesome in stop and go traffic.

ALK (active lane keeping), on the other hand, is not that great compared to Autopilot, as it will frequently lose the lane lines with no audible warning and so you will start to drift when you expect the car to steer. There is a slight change in the visual ALK icon but it's hard to pay attention to the road and also stare at the status of this icon. To counter this I generally always half steer.

I have innodrive on my 2021 I think it’s at least equal to and in most cases better than my previous Tesla with autopilot

Or lift the selector again. Then another 15 seconds will be activated.

this is simply not true vs. my 2018 model 3 performance - there are sooooooooooo many places around my home where autopilot on Tesla works and Porsche’s innodrive will drive you off the road - based on my experience - and in some cases controlled testing - innodrive has severe definencies vs. Tesla’s autopilot.

Tested this recently as I was interested in this as well (Innodrive option). Wasn't as solid as the Tesla but it worked more than fine for me. If the Tesla is a 10, the Porsche is a 7/8.

From my experience...
Porsche's ACC > Telsa Autopilot for adaptive cruise control duties
Porsche's ALK < Tesla Autopilot for lane keeping

I trust Porsche's ACC much more than Autopilot in stop-n-go. When it comes to steering the car, ALK has flashes of brilliance, but it's not as good as autopilot when it comes to staying in lane.

I haven't driven a 2022 Taycan yet, but will be curious to see if ALK has improved at all in a few weeks.

I have it and it's good in most use cases. But it seems to be designed to conservatively disengage when curves are more difficult (e.g. tight radius, lateral incline, etc). It is coded so. In fact a few times I even saw the "driver s control required" message an instant before initiating the turn...

Could be correct from both sides, as AP is limited on most of the functions in the EU/UK, allows less G forces in bends etc. Innodrive on the other hand is mostly developed for EU/UK regulations, and maybe(!) have limitations in the US with "safety" or other reasons.

Personally I use now a TM3P, when tested a Taycan with Innodrive I was more or less happy with, but last time I tested a Taycan GTS without Innodrive (ACC+ALK) and that was significantly worse than AP.

ALK and ACC work better on my Taycan than on my Volvo V90 CC. No complaints.

IMHO when ALK can sense the lines, it’s MUCH better than what I had in my M3.

But the M3 was MUCH better at sensing the lines than the Taycan.

So hopefully Porsche updates his software to just make it better and better.
Guess I will end up adding the ACC + ALK to my order.

this is an unproven technique from Porsche - so far they appear less willing to provide updates in these types of systems than Tesla - it’s more a “set in stone” based on manufacturer date - if you’re purchasing a Porsche on the assumption that core systems (like ACC and ALK) will get better overtime via software updates - well let’s just say evidence in that space is scant to non-existent - and to date I can not recall any suggestion that Porsche plans to do so in the future…

I might be wrong, but so far there is no evidence this has _EVER_ happened.\

if you’re willing to purchase a new vehicle with a future “better” ACC or ALK system yeah that might happend, but updates to vehicles already sold - well ROFL if you think that’s going to happen.

I've got a 2020 TTS, fwiw. It's better than my 2016 Model X's Autopilot, and worse than my 2019 Model 3's EAP.

I'm fine with relying on it for long highway cruises and semi-monitored stop-and-go highway traffic, which is what I use AP on the Model X for as well. The Model 3's EAP was better at staying centered in the lane, and certainly better in surprise traffic situations.
