Anyone find the taycan cabin to be too bright with too many backlight from screens during the night? And also the light next to the sos button by the rear view mirror seems to be permanently on.
Any tips on dimming the cabin down a bit.

Miss the old days with just the dash board and the center tachometer in white light.

I agree 100%. I spent way too long trying to figure out how to disable that overhead light by the SOS button. The best solution anyone had was to cover it with tape which I certainly did not do. I really wish you could turn it off. Other than that, you can turn off the ambient lighting which helps a bit. I'm not even sure if there is a manual dimmer for the instrument panel; I don't think so.

Going to tape it up with black 3m tape tomorrow lol.

Great tip! Elegant solution.

I never thought the cabin brightness would be an issue until driving it for the first time for a longer distance at night in the lesser lit non-city areas.

I imagine the seat in the back with the panoramic roof is likely even better than the front passenger seat. Quite dark and with the open airy feeling.

Unfortunately I’m the only that drives this car. Cry me a river, i know haha.

Hope my newborn daughter grows up appreciating the view from the back seats as she grows up!

I have the displays (all 3) at minus 3ish on the brightness slider.

You can adjust the display and ambient lighting brightness in the settings menus.

I don’t have ambient light (by mistake), but i don’t have problems with sos light, or with screens at all.

All my car's interior lights are set to -5 (lowest setting) ... still considerably brighter than I would like when driving, say, at night on the highway. Ditto for the overhead.

the fact that that overhead lamp can't be turned off or way far down is INSANE.

absolutely wild. tape is the solution. I prefer Gaffing tape since it generally doesn't leave a residue, is totally opaque, and holds well even in heat.

The overhead light doesn’t bother me, but I tend to switch off the PCM display for longer night time journeys

Settings > Car > Light and Visibility > Interior lighting.

That's an additional interior light setting under the Settings app, besides the ambient light setting in the Car app. That setting controls all ambient lighting (including the hidden LED at the top) AND sets the baseline brightness for the displays. At 100% it makes all the displays too bright at night even if you set them to -5.

Set that setting to 5% and that cabin top light will be pretty much off, and your displays will no longer blind you at night when when set to +/-0.

Set it to 0% and the top light will be off completely @npx @DCYL725
